Is any 90s Bally Williams WPC Pinball now worth £2.5K minumum?

Tbh I really do think there will be a saturation point. I don’t begrudge anyone making money from it at the moment except people buying on here and flogging on eBay that’s abit of a shame

i guess in the old days a lot of machines were scrapped. it was doable as an operator. nowadays it’s sacrilege to do that, so you could argue number of pins in uk us increasing. but so are the number of owners. more and more folk building man caves mansheds etc. also pinheads increasing the sizes of their collections if they have space.

economically we may see some owners struggling so more machines may trade hands. prices will drop but it’s only temporary as the cost of new machines and importantly if spare parts continues to rise.

imagine a day when a wrecked EM is the cheapest pin you can buy for £2k. 😜

For every guy that joins our group there’s gotta be 3 guys out there buying pins that don’t join.
I personally know of 2 local brothers that over the last 2 yrs have amassed 20 pins. A local nursery (babies to 12 yr olds) have 2. Two guys on different villages nearby have 6 between them plus a mates got 2 so yea there’s X number of new pins coming onto the market but as someone has pointed out there’s newbies buying pins plus the guys who’ve had pins for years and are still replacing them as n when. The bubble ain’t gonna burst.

My home office is currently in the pin cabin. My laptop camera is angled to not see the pins. Last week I moved the games around to give more space for the one I should be fixing up. That meant TAF was moved into full view for a few days. In almost all meeting someone asked about the machine and how easy are they to own one at home.
These folks have pc gaming rigs worth as much as a 90’s pin. Or fish tanks. Or one guys has a full VR rig with moving floor.
There are more and more folks waking up to owning one at home. I recommend they all buy NIB to ensure there are pins still entering the second hand market.

Everyone keeps going on about this mysterious bubble that’s going to burst but I just don’t see it happening.
NIB keeps going up and up along with the price of the classic stuff so the market it’s obviously expanding more into the mainstream.
This is Probably compounded even more ATM due to all this lockdown boredom I guess.
I keep hoping year in/out that they will at some point plateau and we can then have some sensible prices back but sadly I think it’s all pipe dream and that’s never going to happen.
We have just got to be thankful for the crazy’s “me included” that still buy NIB so at least they eventually end up more affordable for the next in line.

I’d include the DE and Sega titles in this, especially due to their ‘popular’ film themes, they have a broader market appeal for new buyers. Prices have gone up, just like electricity prices, it’s no use saying you could buy a STTNG for 2.2k this time last year so therefore that’s what they’re worth now I’d be surprised if you could get one for less than 3.5. The really strange thing is that the nineties titles values are getting close to more modern machine values which don’t seem to have risen at all.
When I think about it, It actually doesn't surprise me, I think what happening is people in their 30's early 40's, who have a bit of disposable income, remember playing one at their local arcade, watched the film as a kid and loved it and now fancy owning one of the machines they remember.
I'm the same with Paperboy/Space Harrier, used to play it on Eastbourne pier with my Grandad, have had that game on every format and would love an orignal machine. Now space invaders/missle command and Pacman I have absolutely no interest in as was too young to ever play them, first time around.

Pinball for me is kindoff similar, love 90's and early 2000 pins as played them in arcades alot when I was a teenager and in my early twenties, 80's pins and 70's pin hold no appeal, probably because I never got to play them as a kid!

Slightly off topic fellas, but I’m thinking of a WPC DMD era for my next pin and currently have a WPT. What would you recommend if I want something flowy (can’t be a superpin/ wide body due to door access). Budgeting £2k ish

theres a HS2 on here which is a cracking sub 2k pin IMO and a typical classic Ritchies layout at its best. Admittedly its not very deep but is great fun but come to think of it are any Ball/Will pins that deep. TAF for me is the most overated pin of all time which comands its stupid price tag for nostalgia IMO and RS it better in every way if you can hack the theme! so its a shame no widebodys in your ask.

Barely squeezed my current pin through the house doing the shark fin- would love a STTNG; always want what you can’t have I guess. Thanks for the HS2 recommendation- just noticed it’s on Zen pinball so will try it out. RS would scare my kids I reckon with the talking heads. Need to get back to you about some mirror blades Colin when I get some free time

I can't cut mirror blades they are too long for my laser however 1mm silver Hips is cuttable with knife or a super set of scissors and theres a neat gel type sticky stuff on a roll that @scottydoesntknow used on his TMNT that looks great as a cheaper option.
IMO you cant beat Stainless Steel ones @CHRIS B PINBALLS if he has them but I think they are collection only. I try carry a spare set so pick em up direct from him as a fairly regular visitor emptying my PinnyBank

I saw the hips vs stainless steel thread- I reckon I’m dealing with a super tight space as the VUK near the ball launch has already scuffed. Basically need whatever the thinnest option is. Need to clean and dismantle the upper playfield first as it’s well dirty around the pop bumpers and I can’t get to it with a microfibre
