Well there not worth that to me but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth that to someone else! [emoji23]

I feel sorry for unsuspecting buyers on eBay paying over the odds and not being able to move it on afterwards.

Especially on eBay when it might not always be as described when it switched on. Buyer beware I guess.

with ebay you are always going to get the weird-to-us pricing caused by casual buyers not really knowing the market and others going for a fave theme. eg only needs a couple of popeye fans to get bidding against each other.

Im shocked as even all the Sega, De stuff has massively gone up the last couple of years, i remember struggling to sell Baywatch Royal Rumble, Franky etc all a couple years back for under 1k,i have been looking for a Sega to pop up for sale for a while, but not much about and even most of them are 2to2.5kish(which i would pay if the right one came up) think its hard to find any 90s pins under 2k now! Tbh not many 90s pins pop up for sale at present especially the Sega De stuff, if only i had kept my Sega De movie collection i had!

Jackbot seems to be stuck between £1500 and £1800. Don't think I've seen any sell for more than £1800 but I could be wrong, Very fun game for the money.

I don’t think a lot of the stuff on e bay actual sells lots of shill biding and then things re listed ridiculous bin prices that just stick there for years or don’t sell

With the exception of A titles, most are still sub 2k.

Sometimes you have to put your hand in your pocket if something comes along that you want and that might be overpriced, and we've all been there, but if you can resist the urge you'll get a something sensibly priced eventuly.

Ebay and Facebook ads just fish for people who don't know better, and more often than not the seller lucks out.

It's not pushing the price up in my mind, just producing more victims (sadly).

My point is not just ebay listings. I generally look for the ones that get sold and do not re-appear as reference to prices.

We all know a few people who SHILL like mad.

Generally I am getting many enquires about ebay machines needing some TLC, or an LED conversion. I always say 'Can I be nosy? what did you pay?'. Most the time I hopefully have my poker face on, but what I am saying in my head is 'O M F G'

I must admit I would have been one of them, I only bought my first machine in summer last year, when I was looking around it was diffiult for me to work out how much a machine should be, I generally thought a STTNG (one I ended up buying) would be around the £5K to £6K mark. Thank god I found this forum and people have been kind enough to educate me, when I was first looking.

I’d include the DE and Sega titles in this, especially due to their ‘popular’ film themes, they have a broader market appeal for new buyers. Prices have gone up, just like electricity prices, it’s no use saying you could buy a STTNG for 2.2k this time last year so therefore that’s what they’re worth now I’d be surprised if you could get one for less than 3.5. The really strange thing is that the nineties titles values are getting close to more modern machine values which don’t seem to have risen at all.

I think the biggest reason for increases of most pinball prices is that a £10.000 new pinball is not uncommon.

You also get Homes Leisure direct, the games room company, Williams amusements, Liberty games telling people games are worth a fortune. They must think if Liberty games are selling a Data east Star Wars for £5995 then ours has got to be worth that..... on here it’s not but I have heard people spend £4.5k on a very average one.

Guy in the next road asked me to look at his Fathom for him. I asked him what he paid and he told me £1800, thats ok I thought. Trouble was that was in 1992!!

Crazy, I sell my pins on for what it has cost me or a bit less but always go out 100% and no nasty surprises.

Hard to get a bargain these days, I bought a machine lately for £900 that I have put in over £700 and many hours of work. Still have the cab to do. Will be lucky to get £2k if I sell but not bought to sell on, the seller said do you want to know what I paid? Go on then, what? £100. Now that was a bargain!!!

Im done buying WPC games but been looking at 80"s pins, prices seem high on these now as well which is annoying.
When will the bubble burst?

Prices may seem high to most of us when looking on Ebay. However, a couple of mine went to Ebay after noone was interested on here - they ended up selling for more than I was going to let them go for on here.

Its all about timing when listing - if noone wants the specific machine you are selling on here, then no doubt it'll go elsewhere to sell - ebay, facebook etc.

In my opinion about a year or twos time the market will be a wash with broken 90’s pins some things are selling but you need space and abut of nouse to keep them going. I noticed a black rose on eBay the other day, alright game I’ve had one it’s was fun but just so so but someone wanted 3k which seems abit much to me but with ps5’s advertised for 5 k who knows. I do think short term money seems to be cheep but longterm who knows and are pins really with a massive debt ? Not much fun in debt

The eBay auction will have a couple of fuzzy pics and the seller will say that the machine lights up but won't start a game and it's probably just a fuse required for an easy fix.

Someone will still buy it!

Having said that though a pinball is a luxury item and if money is tight you're quite right it's the kind of thing that will get sold, so if supply increases prices *could* fall.

Generally now - a lot of items look like they work, but are not looked after.
Someone googles machine they own.
Comes up with mad prices.
They think that they can get that price.

You also have to accept due to the lurgy going around, people are not planning 2021 holidays as lets face it - it will be unlikely. So again, people have spare money and are bored.

Supply and demand usually determines value.

Looking on this forum, only in the last few days have we seen machines starting to go up for sale again. Things have been quiet on lower priced machines.

WIth Andy's point above - I would buy a broken machine, as I know I can fix it. But price has to reflect that!

I overpaid for my F14 at the time. Legitimately a bit of a dog, nothing I couldn't fix really well... except for the missing beacons topper (and all the mechs removed for it.)
£800.

The guy who hooked me up to the seller of it on this forum (to whom I am still thankful in his private helpfulness!) must have thought I was stark raving mad to pay that much for it. They suggested about £200, £300 at tops. And at the time - yeah. I overpaid.

Nowadays though - for a super-easy-to-tidy-up example, topper missing but with a brand new PinLED display installed... I'd say £800 is about par in places like this. Outside of here? I recovered from my impulse purchase loss, to say the least. And when I finally assemble all the pieces I need for the topper... yeah it'll be worth a lot more than that lol

I’m old school so I find it extremely hard to pay today’s prices for machines. When I first started it was over 30 yrs ago and you could regularly pick up non working machines for less than £100. Spare for them were also cheap.
When I look at prices now and think back. My first house was brand new in 1970 and cost me £3100 (3 bed semi) and I was earning £20 with a wife and one sproglet. You could pick up a decent second hand car for £100.
I’m off to find a quiet corner to have a little cry in
