If buying from the states, don't use USPS...

First I wasn't given a choice of courier and second who's bleating? My advice was to avoid USPS if you can given my experience.

Get off your high horse please...
I was speaking 'generally' about ANYONE not specifically about your experience.

Perhaps my post wasn't written well enough for that to be recognised. Let me make it clear here: "My comments WERE NOT directed at you" - OK?

I took the saddle off my horse a very long time ago, you are barking up the wrong tree there........................

Anyone ordered anything from June 10th via USPS and have it arrive?

I have 4 packages that are all USPS and they all seem to be stuck at the point they leave the US - wondering if there is some big delay? These are all from folks who won’t use anyone else annoyingly. The all were posted week of the 14th June.

mfresh I suspect your parcel was sent express like my other pinmonk box.

If it's gone through Chicago there's a whole load of threads of missing parcels on Reddit. They even got in a new site manager to sort the mess out..

one thru Chicago and three not.

Greg's claiming a refund on the 60th day. On day 58 presently, looks ever likely that my Topper is lost....

Sad really, really wanted the topper.

Can't say I've ever had an issue with stuff coming from US, though most of the stuff I order is West Coast (NY) area. Around the first lockdown I had some big delays (to be expected), got my money back, only for the parcel to eventually turn up.

I’ve never lost anything yet but it does seem to be at the worst level of **** during the last year. Before covid USPS where very good.

Not wanting to be political, last year Trump appointed a postmaster general with no experience. The postmaster general then instigated the removal of hundreds of high speed mail sorting machines (671 of them), the knock on effect of which I suspect is possibly one of the main causes of USPS delays hence this thread.

Perhaps @Neil McRae is correct, it's just a covid thing but it's interesting that is only affecting USPS by comparison to other private delivery companies in the states. Two recent purchases are a marco order using Zonos with Fedex and CPR playfield using UPS both took less than a week compared to the USPS order (which was done within a day of the marco order took over a month to arrive, 6 weeks does seem to ring a bell with tracking showing it not moving for several weeks at a distribution hub in the states).

So the actions of the new postmaster that were COUNTRY WIDE have ONLY affected this ONE postal centre? I find that VERY hard to accept. If it was a country wide problem then sure, I would probably agree with you but it seems it isn't.

My humble suggestion to you is to keep your irrational "Trump hate" to yourself as I keep my opinion to myself (and I haven't said which way I lean BUT I dislike irrational comments made about anyone).

Easy Tiger, this isn’t Pinside.
If this is directed at me I would point out that I have simply suggested to a poster that he refrain from "getting political". I haven't said ANYTHING political one way or the other but merely suggested (politely) that another poster should use caution when espousing political comments here. If I'm wrong, and political comments are allowed here, then I take it all back and admit I'm wrong - somehow I doubt that however!

If your comment is NOT directed at me then disregard but I have no way of knowing one way or the other.

There’s no politics ban here, we manage to discuss a whole range of issues by and large without descending into tribalism or name calling.

It was you calling @Moonraker irrational which got my attention as my experience of the guy is anything but. The use of caps and a desire to shut down the topic seemed a lot more like Pinside than here, hence my gentle point to chill.

I value having a pin manufacturer post on here just as I value having a wide range of posters with different backgrounds and views. Your views are welcome here, even if I or others disagree with them. 🤝

Bought 200 speakers from adafruit via fedex, no joke arrived 2 days later!!! From the states that’s incredible! And no VAT **** ups either :D

Supplier filed an insurance claim few days ago. Unfortunately it looks to be lost as the mail search returned zip .. just waiting on my refund now.

So some of my stuff moved last night which is good news.
