and Guadians!

Enjoy :D

Looks like a bunch of IC changes with some minor gameplay tweaks.

I wonder what new nasties they've introduced to try and block Scorbit...

**** STERN INSIDER CONNECTED ****
- Home Team
The Home Team features allows Insider Connected players to log in
and play without scanning their QR code.

When the game is registered to a home location and set to Free Play,
Home Team can be enabled via Standard Adjust #51 or from Guided Setup.
Up to 8 players can be added to the Home Team from the Stern Insider
Connected Setup menu.

The Home Team can be shared across all games registered at the game's
location by enabling the Home Team Standard Adjustment on each game.
Players need only be added once to the Home Team. Players can be
later removed from the Home Team, and guests can be temporarily
added to the Home Team.

There are only a few games with a couple of fixes and updates:
Rush and Godzilla as they are not v1 yet
Mando has some fixes
Turtles has some fixes
Munsters has a couple of fixes
Aerosmith has a lot of updates
Couple of fixes in LZ

AIQ has some fixes and balancing too

I'll probably update most but Cleland's mix is so much a part of playing GoTG, not sure I can do without it!

Does the 'Home Team' stuff mean I don't need to buy scanners for every machine, but can just connect them up to ethernet/WiFi and get the Insider achievements? Can't find much about it anywhere, seems pretty pointless if you still need to buy the scanner!

I can't tell as I'm verified and it won't let me use it!

Best update so far, set up home team & login by simply holding left flipper!!

QR code for apple and android wallets now available. login into SIC and goto your QR code and there is now a wallet option.

in theory that would work but I don't think that's the case.

insider connected enabled games only according to the YT video.

which is nuts, so you buy a flash card and ethernet and you should be able to use the home setup. I guess stern just wants all the games to be the same from a capability POV

Neil.

which is nuts
Why is it nuts? They want to sell Insider connected kits. If you had 1 kit and could register the home team using it and then use it on machines with no kit, they'd lose sales. From what I see, all games going forwards have the kit anyway.

well they say they sell the kit at a loss (which I'm very uncertain about). so if you need less kits and you use the power of the network you dont need any more kits! saves resources and the planet etc!

The Godzilla update looks great.

As for the insider connected thing . . . . it's about as much use as the bagel warming function on my toaster.
You haven’t tried it yet! 😂
I wasn’t at all interested in IC but now I’ve tried it I’m quite impressed. Especially now I can log on by just holding the left flipper 👍

No way they're losing money on it unless they're incompetent.

Pretty sure the electronics is <$50 having had a quick poke around at what's in my GZ apron - it's probably nearer $25 in the volumes they are buying, and can't be that much for the new apron.

Well I've just updated 5 machines and an interesting outcome..

Firstly, updating via wifi is incredibly slow, using only 1 usb stick I was able to update 3 machine one after the other in the time Godzilla took to update over wifi. Nothing new there but it was good to find out exactly how slow it is :D .

Now more interestingly, after enabling Home Team on all machines IC does indeed seem to work fine without a scanner connected!. After only a few quick tests logging in by holding the left button seems to work fine with no scanner connected, my score was still uploaded to IC to be viewed on the website. So those ethernet switchers and all the cables I bought to share 1 scanner were a waste of money . I've only had 1 game, a longish 800+M on Deadpool but had no issues. Fingers crossed they don't nerf it because now you only need a £6 micro sd card and a £10 wifi dongle per machine as long as you have 1 machine with a scanner to borrow to set up each machine.

But I don't want to log on mate (I hate Alexa too so it's not just pinball). I'm more than happy to be disconnected (virtually) when playing pinball, I think I spend so much time connected to the internet that I'm cool with the machine being sort of retro.

Also I have no desire to compare my crap scores with everyone else's amazing achievements. And unless the Stern Insider awards are heavily discounted pinball machines or a free pizza delivered to my door that has zero appeal too.

Quite frankly I'm appalled that the worlds greatest pinball designer has wasted 2 years working on a barcode sanner when he could have been making Deadpool II 😉

Nice one Kev, fingers crossed they don’t nerf it as this is a result really. I’m very tempted to do this myself now - any recommendations on Wi-Fi dongles at all?

^^^^Agreed
Only true Pinheads are disconnected from the matrix.
All IC users are slaves to the system 😃

Completely agree. I have zero interest in Insider Connected. Having to download an App and scan before you play each game is just something getting in the way of playing the silver ball.

Not bothered about getting 'Achievements' because the only achievement worth having is the High Score. Tried Scorebit, which worked well, but again, don't want to have to login each time I play a game.

I also think that this will eventually lead to paid DLC which won't be good.

It’s a slippery slope..
Only a matter of time before the JJP pin camera gets hacked too.
Peeps watching folks in their games room getting up to all sorts of mischief 😜
