More to the point... Why does boiling a kettle on a boat make it explode like a bomb has gone off??
The point about the lid is valid, but she’s blatantly not on a boat.
Only thing I can think of, the water splashes over and puts out the flame on the hob, then the boat fills with gas?
Maybe she was so distracted making tea that she had failed to notice the boat drifting into heavily mined enemy waters.
