Hey mate, no worries. I wasn't banking on it happening. I have ordered the part and it was shipped today. I now have two pins out of action ><.
Alien machine to be fair has been broken since I got it home. Using its down time to sort out plastic protectors and rubbers.
OK so with a ton of help from @Mfresh the Hook Machine is now back in action!
Basically after Mfresh helped to resolder my amatuer attempt at soldering my new TIP36c chip he had helped to diagnose that we had a blown 3A Slow Blow on the board as well. Likely happened when the TIP36c snapped.
When I got the board back from Mfresh I noticed that we had power to the flippers but they were weak. Mfresh deduced that F5 on the flipper board must have blown as well. Sure enough he was bang on the money.
After swapping F1 from his recommendation into F2 to confirm the flippers were back!
Paul aka Mfresh really knows his stuff I owe him one.
Ton of stuff arrived today. New decals. the Hook topper, new start button.

Rear Back Box and Cab Rear had seen better days. Got a colour match at B&Q and did some touch. Completely avoided the sides. They are good enough and I don't want to wreck the original artwork.

Added two 'cliffy' protectors to the Skull and right scoop (VUK?) unfortunately the scoop didn't work well as there is enough of the playfield missing that it created a dip where the metal rests resulting in a dent and lifting during play so I had to remove that one. I put Mylar down instead around it to minimise further damage.

Next up the start button. Had a nasty crack. You may have caught your finger on it at Pinfest? 
Was a sod to get the old one off.
Gave the micro switch a clean with some rubbing alcholol and resoldered the wires. The old switch housing and lamp holder had to go as the new switch was a push fit, its the more modern twist fit i'm used to on Mame Cabs.
I would touch up the croc and red but honestly I lack the skill set so will leave that alone.

Clean up the playfield
Clean up Pop bumper skirts
Resolve Sticky Drop Target on First Cannon
Attach Hook Topper
Fly and cannon decals
One last thing also.
I've noticed over the mermaid in the playfield there is a light shining through and a circular pattern on the playfield. Should there be a sticker decal with some information on it?

That's normal, its an insert light re. the text to the right. the left outlane mermaid has no insert.

Will work on a video Splice if possible showing the before and after with the LED inserts. I'm missing a couple of colours which should have been in the kit. Just trying to get that resolved.

I thought you had to short out the plunger coil too - seem to remember doing that on my Tales from The Crypt...Ahhh the good old DE/Sega dropping the playfield in the cab trick
Your damage doesn't look too bad other than the transistor. I dropped my Baywatch playfield and it destroyed that board, scrapped half the components off into the bottom of the cab as it went and I had to get a replacement
Haha I know what you mean but every data east has weird music imo.
At the moment I'm just enjoying the restoration.
Eventually I'll put it up for trade I'm sure.
Hook is a very under appreciated game. It's much better now with new game code by Chad, but also is ripe for modding.
I do really like the OP's idea for a better skull. Also love seeing Hook with mirror blades.

- Possibly look at some Hook related toys to decorate the playfield, or maybe the new skull rock's as suggested earlier in this thread.
Work completed:
- LED Inserts throughout the playfield
- New Leg Levelers
- Replaced Slingshot plastics
- New Rubbers throughout the playfield
- Playfield cleaned and waxed
- Translite cleaned
- Lock Bar cleaned
- Glass cleaned but nothing I can do about the scratches..
- Wood filler on damaged backbox area and new paint job
- Cleanup and touch up to side of back box removing orange paint
- New Pinball Balls
- New Hook Topper
- New Sticker decals
- Cleaned ramps and repaired damage to large plastic ramp
- New Chad game code fitted (5.01) and display code 5.0
- Repaired Flipper board and replaced TIP36C chip and reflowed connector header
- Removed rust and re-coated Leg bolts
- Touch up on side rails
- New Apron Cards
