In Progress Gremlins - Goodwins Place Homebrew Pinball Log

Are you going to swap the flipper button switches to proper leaf buttons later on?
Probably will when the time comes, the ones I had were broken. I have more arcade spares than pinball so they went in to test things out. I'm running single wound coils so they function fine with these micro switches for now.

Nice work. Looking good. Good to see you got the buzz again. Sometimes you need a break to be able to come back and make progress. I don’t think I will ever lose that “can I smell burning” thought on mine, whenever I turn it on. 😆🤣😆🔥

100% it's been on the back of my mind the whole time, I needed the time to build a bigger space and organise my setup before getting back to this.

I lost a lot of momentum when I came back to it as it's a steep learning curve to remember everything you'd done previous. Getting my OPP boards working is my current big success, I think I could have been in this position a long time ago if I went with FAST or Cobra hardware.

The smell of burning 😂 yep a familiar smell for anyone doing one of these builds. I still have a fire extinguisher next to my build at all times.
I think I've spent more time panicking about it catching fire (again) and putting my finger on MOSFETs to see how hot they are than actually building the thing.

Thanks for the support.

A night away with work so took the Orange Pi with me. Didn't get much done but managed to name all my switches and start learning a bit more on MPF modes.

Love the Gameplan style lower left corner with the bumper
Thanks, not sure how final that is, might make the space around the pop smaller and possibly put in a drain gap. I'll see how it plays first. Also need to put a stronger coil on it as it's an old pop mech and pretty weak.

Have a look at pics of Cyclopes and Andromeda both by Gameplan to see the differences they went with  Andromeda doesn't have a drain like you currently have but Cyclopes does and having played both I definitely prefer it to have the drain there!

Posted pretty much the same time. Andromeda was where the idea came from.
