Third pin on its way , I don,t think this title is very well liked , but I remember quite liking it in the pub many many years ago. .
Gilligans island. , ! Well I think I got it cheap enough. , and. It's all working , or at least it was advertised as fully working , looked tidy enough on the photo,s but we will soon see when it arrives. , only thing wrong was a bit of wear on the middle inserts , - does anyone know where I can got some new insert decals. And does anybody do new cab decals for gilligans. .? I'll post some photies when it arrives.

You might be able to get insert decals for her but definitely no cabinet side artwork for Gilligans.
Enjoy it I'm sure you will, there are far worse machines out there.

Well done and welcome to the Three Pin Club!

Gilligan's Island has such a Marmite reputation, but I've no idea why? It looks all right in the IPDB photos. Theme isn't my cup of tea, but... please post up some pics and a shop log if you do any work on it and help dispel it's negative reputation!

Na , it was on ebay , finished a couple of days before that one , no bids , so I put an offer in !

See,one pin is never enough.

Don't anyone ever forget the most apt pinball saying ever
"what is the best number of pins to own for a good collection?"

"However many you have PLUS one":D

Well it,s just arrived , and I,n quite happy with it. It's in quite good condition. All working, only wear on the playfield is the ingredients inserts. , still looking for some replacements. , but no luck yet. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

I've always liked the look of this pin but never played it. Been put off by others but gonna bag me one one day to make my own mind up. Would look good alongside another Black Rose and an Elvira & TPM..... eventually.

Congrats on the third purchase. Its a slippery slope.....

I don't like the game rules a bit meh, but it really is great to see someone mega happy with their pins.
You have to always go with what YOU like
A few of my pins people are like"why have that??"-ya just gotta go with what ya like

Don't understand , ? Wots wrong with it. .

See that full stop at the end of where it says "Free Play." ? Usually the full stop is not present and is referred to as a credit dot. This is generally present when there is something not quite right, from pinwiki (who can explain it 10x better than I ever could):

"The credit dot is a decimal point (a single, lit pixel on the display), that appears after the number of credits or after the words free play on the DMD display on WPC games. It is a quick indicator used to tell the operator or owner that there may be an issue with the game. Most commonly, there is a switch or multiple switch problems with the game. However, a credit dot will appear for other reasons, such as when the date and time are not set."

Can happen though say if you have had 30 games and a particular switch has not been hit, it doesn't know there is a fault but the lack of the switch registering after so many games makes it think there is a problem when there isn't.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg A few more photo,s as requested . Noticed a couple of things wrong , nothing much.- wiring for coin mech cut , wiring near left flipper board cut and resistors put inline with chockablocks ! One way gate at top is not working , so will have to strip ramp and see what is going on there. , apart from that pretty neat. and tidy. , Usually knocks to cab and backbox ( which I could get some decals. Wear around ingredient inserts. , someone has tried to felt tip them in ! Still trying to locate insert decals , if not will either try and get some made or touch up my self ( any help on trying to get some made ? ). Rules are very limited to it , but for some reason you have to keep trying to beat your last score , probably will get a bit boring after a while. It will keep the kids happy for a bit , playfield is quite good , apart from the inserts I mentioned , I will clean and polish it later and see what it comes out like. image.jpgimage.jpg Are these resistors attached to the flipper switches ? Are they supposed to be there ? image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

Thanks for that , I recently put some gold roms in image.jpg it and have not set the date , also there is a problem with one of the roms , it is showing a fault , I think I will change them back any way as the gold version is no better in my opinion.

The dark red things are just in-lines(they join cables in-line hence the name),the things joined to choccy blocks appear to be diodes but difficult to see from picture.
If they say 1N4004,or 1N4007 etc they are diodes

Unless date on batteries is looking like they are new replace them.
if ya want to keep all the scores do so,carefully with power on

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgThese are the resistors I was on about in the top picture , also what are the red things on the flipper switches , my TAF does not have them and also. Why is the board totally differant in my TAF. .?

The black things I thought were resistors have in4002

RS on them , one wire goes nowhere and the orange one goes to the small connector for the coin mech. Don,t know what these were put in for !?
