Godzilla Premium

Well, was in Tilt for 1st time today.
Doing a job 5 mins away in Birmingham before heading to London.
Stayed on the ground floor:
Ones I was interested in playing that I hadn’t before:
- Venue great
- Latte amazing - and I’m fussy, guy great at little milk designs too 😃
- Mando 3 stars
- AIQ - 4 stars
- Deapool 4 stars
- Stranger Things - 🙄
- GOTG - 1 star clunkfest wanted to walk away
- Godzilla - 5 star
Have to say, really went there to play DP.
Loved it but I think it could get old pretty quick.
Godzilla is a different level. That pulsing shaker….
Have to say though, a few times I was thinking “give me my frikin ball back" as it went around the chasm of wireforms, lol… but what a design.
Can’t believe they have a LE in there.
My hands were hurting after a while.
Doesn’t help that I currently have a snapped rotator cuff shoulder injury.
All pins have playfield protectors which was interesting.

Working in Westminster tomorrow then heading off to Cardiff.
Is Chief Coffee open?
Does it still have Ghostbusters?
May have to have a late lunch (skive) there... lol

Pretty sure that none of the games at TILT have playfield protectors.

I can confirm that Chief is still open and have Ghostbusters.
They serve great coffee as well

Playing any game at home is very different for me compared to home where you can properly hear the call outs etc.

I’ve only played GZ and AIQ once. Seemed ok. No idea if the theme is well integrated. I’m assuming AIQ is based around some film or other but I’ve not seen it so no idea if it matches. I’ve just assumed it’s identical to every other superhero movie eg lots of special effects.

Back to the original posters question I wouldn’t assume new means better in terms or reliability. For me Stern’s build quality can be absolute bobbins. JJPs get their flack over **** poor playfield quality.

You might be as well to pick up a machine that has been proved reliable with developed code etc rather than punting for the latest game.

One man’s Godzilla is another man’s Munsters though so playing in advance is wise if it is at all possible.

Each to their own and as mentioned far too many times play before you decide.
However it’s hard if not played in a home environment for many reasons and doesn’t give you a true experience how how good/bad a pin is as many grow on you over time.
That aside my gut feeling hasn’t let me down upto now and I’ve been happy with the majority of acquisitions over the years and all pins have some positive in them after all they are a pinball!
As for Godzilla IMO it’s the best Stern has ever produced in fact the best game ever made to date and I’m way past the honeymoon on this one now but still rate it above all my pins.
Just sayin.

You're never going to get a full feel for a pin before owning it.

However, there are ways to make sure your pinball collection isn't a revolving door.

I played Godzilla probably 20-30 times before I bought it. I was slightly worried that the callouts would irritate me in a home setting. They've grown on me over time.

I will tend to play a game loads of times if I've played it and not gelled with it, and feel I'm missing something. Sometimes I'll watch a playthrough video and then play it again.

I played Fish Tales online 150 times before getting it as my first pin. As I'd never played a full-sized pin before we bought it, it was a huge risk. I really liked to shoot the wireform ramps - I still do. It wasn't a mistake. Likewise, I bought LoTR after watching a Valinor playthrough. Again, not a mistake, it has a place, although I probably don't like it as much as our faster shorter-playing pins (FT and GZ).

You don't need to go "Well, if you can't own it, you may as well just pull up a webpage of pins and stick your finger on the screen at random."

one thing premium / LE owners turn down the coil that feeds the scoop to the building. Reports that they are being deformed at the top and the ball gets stuck in it. Its actually set pretty high for what it does.

Super exciting to me that the designer I like best has two themes that for me are elite, wrapped up in elite level pinball design. Now if I could just locate a Godzilla....

GOTG!!! How dare you!

Although it takes some getting used to to hit the ramps and loops with regularity

Yeah guys, I just couldn’t hit anything with GOTG… when I could it then drained..lol

Today playing Ghostbusters first time ever, loved it.
Didn’t mind the flipper gap too much and on my 2nd game got “choose your destructor” is it Marshmallow multiball?
Shots are great, think the premium would be def worth getting.
