as for numbness and pins and needles in the hands - it most probably is carpel tunnel syndrome - in which you can go for nerve testing and will quickly identify if you have it and how bad. I let the numbness go until it bothered me all night with hand braces during sleep and then alot during the day when on a computer. I finally went to the specialists after trying osteopaths, acupuncturists etc etc and they told me it is super risky to let it go as could lead to permanent damage.
I had dual carpel tunnel surgery 2 years ago and took me a while to be able to play pinball but now can again but playing does still trigger mild numbness as tend to lean down on the lockdown bar. I did suffer permanent damage to 2 fingers of just feeling weird and not regained 100% nerve normality so be careful.
Basically they cut the carpal ligament in half and in my case my hand / palm could open up flat again and then the ligament regrows and protects the nerves, ligaments and veins once again but it can re-occur.
