+1.
I've been in this hobby for yonks and never had a problem.
Heater in the cold months and that's it.
I think it's more a OCD problem than anything else.
Heater increases the temperature. Which reduces the Humidity.....

This is how much water it took from the air in about 10 hours.Looking really good. Could you link we where you got your dehumidifier from? And maybe a pic of it in action so I can see the how full the resovoir gets.
I just had my house and pin garage all rewired so this is the last part of my project to do. I was fine in the summer but now it is getting chilly in there
And here is the pinball machine after just 24 hrs in the dehumidified room
That is it Paul. I'm not chasing some kind of magical figure. Just looking for a more stable environment.
Fantastic thanks @stoptap. I will go for this one and see how it goes
Which raises an important question. Given that the machines are made of wood and so are the playfields, will using a dehumifier eventually lead to planking and shrivelling of the joints of the cabinet? How much humidity is right?
OMG! I can't breathe!Hahahaha. I'm so, so sorry. I really am. But this is just great.
As useful as this thread is (and it is indeed very useful) I think we can all agree that topics like dehumidifiers and heaters etc can be a little boring. But fear not good buddies. It is a much better read when it's been 'ghettoized'..... Some of this is jut priceless. I particurally enjoyed: "I aint talkin' bout chicken n' gravy biatch."
