Fun pinball machines

I've been giving this a bit of thought for a little while now and I'm interested in your opinions before I choose my third pinball.

LOTR & Jurassic Park are two of my favourite pinball machines but I wouldn't necessarily call them fun. They're challenging & immersive and keep me coming back for more but I feel like I'm completing a puzzle or a strategy.

Deadpool is just fun, it doesn't really matter what I'm hitting, it's just a blast.

When I went to @Jmac house and cranked up Fish Tales I had a smile on my face the whole time. Champion Pub was even better and I loved playing Elvira at Neil's house. Fun, fun, fun.

So . . . . what's your favourite fun pinball machine?

Games I have enjoyed - The Flintstones, Theatre of Magic, RFM, Scared Stiff. Party Zone, Radical, CIrqus voltaire, Monster Bash, Spider Man, Star Trek (Stern)....

Or (DARE I SAY) - Make a virtual pinball and play all of them and more.

Most of them are fun to be fair.... I am bad at all of them.....

Got to agree Fish Tales puts a smile on my face... in a very very similar way so does Getaway HS2. Whenever I have none serious pinball people play them they enjoy them both. Fast and frantic with fun scenes and rewarding shots/ramps.

Laugh factor is maxed with AfM and MM for me though. One day...

Not played more modern games very much, so could be missing out.

I’ve had my FT for nearly 10 years, did a proper restore job on it etc due to my other pastime, it’s fun but probably the least played pin I have.
Not sure it would be good in a collection of 3 if you play everyday but everyone should own one a some stage.
Find Tron and Avatar a lot of fun for some reason, once you have decent speakers in them it becomes a lot more fun😎
Medieval Madness is growing on me every time I play it and very funny.
Dialed In! is also a lot of fun.
Yeah Popeye😖

you'd enjoy Iron Man (I say this to a lot of people)

The audio is excellent on Iron Man. I'm very happy with the factory package, but I know others use various custom mixes. Tron, on the other hand, is much better remixed...
Didnt realise my Tron had a remix on it until the other day when I posted a clip, listened to the original on YouTube and agree with you. Amazing.

Sounds like ‘sellers remorse’ for that original Popeye! That would be high on my list. Agree re H2O - so bad it made me go and see ZZTop - and in a different way would add Whodunnit with great music and corny call outs.

😂😂

Actually I didn't mind Popeye to be fair.

Interesting reading.

Popeye, I wouldn't say it was fun because it drains quite harshly.

Iron man & Metallica: Never played

Spiderman: Great fun

GOTG: I played it once at Chief and really enjoyed it.

AFM: It is fun but I find it drains when you hit the saucer shot too frequently. I found it frustrating but addictive.

Tron: I hate, it. 😂 Sorry. I don't like this but Borg fellow very much. Popeye is better than Tron 😂😂

MM: I've not played it nearly enough but I can clearly tell that it's a blast.

Of ones that I've played, I'd agree that MM and Ironman are both good fun. I also really enjoyed the few games I've had on Cactus Canyon and Circus Voltaire.

ETA - Although I've only played it on a Playstation, Taxi also looks to be a pin with a great theme, easy to understand rules, and very humorous.

Another suggestion (and I'm a bit biased) but as a contrast to LoTR and JP, TNA is a lot of fun - great music, excellent lighting, fast play, and good for those not that into pinball as the rules are pretty straightforward and there's also the co-op modes. As the games don't last that long, it also has the "just one more game" pull that keeps you going back to it.

TNA does appeal quite a lot but I've not played it.

I have 7 machines now but keep going back to Fishy, it has that one more go appeal that a lot of others don’t. If you complete the boat once it’s a blast but try completing it twice and it becomes a bit of a challenge. CV can be a bit of a pain to play but when you have a good game it really is great.
Can I also throw Congo into the “fun” mix, there are a lot of shots and some great call outs too.

Yeah - there aren't that many in the UK. It was my first pin, and I also hadn't played it when I bought it in March this year.
Since getting it, I've put over 2000 games on it and have absolutely no regrets and no plans to sell it anytime soon. :)

So you don't want to trade for a Popeye LE then? 😂

It's supposed to do that dude ;) In terms of fun games, most of the System 11's are awesome, early Bally and Stern solid states games especially around 1980/81 are amazing, a lot of the mid 70's EM's from Gottlieb are quality (especially the single player wedgeheads) along with all the 90's and 00's stuff people have already mentioned. Gen 2 Zaccaria's are generally awesome, as are Gottlieb Sys80b's and I could go on :D Every era has got fun games, even some of the 2in flipper EMs from the 50's and 60's are a good laugh...just depends on what your taste is

Turned on my TAF yesterday for the first time in a year. I always forget how fun it is. Takes me back to playing games in pubs.

For me though WCS is probably one of the most fun games. Probably should get myself another one. Similarly AFM is always fun. Both have obvious shots and a big toy in the centre.
