From Corfu with love

I’m apologising to no one Ron -if he’s had a deal fair play but the Dutch /Albanian / Greek uses the same pictures of this guy and his little girl , hence I alerted you all to take caution !

Is it not possible that the scammer is using a genuine guy's pictures? I think that's how it normally goes.

Do they pick up from other countries or just Corfu, be nice to know incase i import anything again in the future?

Well thats not all bad, what are they called so i can make a note of them if anything pops up in the future?

With genuine respect to all of the people here, of which 98% of you all are way more experienced than me in any subject of pinball...

...you guys aren't the best at 'reading' people online! Even in this thread, the 'meet face to face' post got taken out of context. It's one thing if that's said someone that primarily lives online, because that's an elevation beyond 'standard' social comfort, but for people that don't spend half of waking life at a computer it doesn't mean much at all.

Also, the suspicion of international purchases - meh, makes for better deals for the rest of us. A quick travel to meet/inspect in person should be the least of your worries if you have the spare cash for pinball games, no offence. Meeting in person and seeing in person erases all of the standard doubts and if you plan it right you can even still pay in cash. If it's a pile of crap once you get there, you're out a plane ticket and some time, but that's the dice you roll. Travel is fun, anyway?!

Without wanting to pull this one back out of the swamp..

The context is that this sort of comment has been getting thrown about a lot lately, and by that I mean in the middle of an argument, meet and such and such an event and "sort it out" or to have a "chat" in inverted commas. Easily deniable due to not being an explicit threat, but fairly obvious what is meant.

I don't think it was that much of a stretch to think that this was another case of that, but apologies all round if so.

Oh, it's absolutely understandable - I'm just going off my experience that it so very rarely amounts to anything, it's basically a meme. Every time such an offer is taken up, all tempers are immediately defused by the fact that people are much, much cooler-headed in person - and also that people can now understand each other better (facial expressions, tone of voice, body language - you lose these online and it takes, honestly, years and years of raw experience in correlating those to writing patterns) - and **** is normally quickly resolved.

Hey, yep I picked them up last week from the courier's UK depot...took a little longer due to driver holidays. They are only a small company. All good and no physical damage I can see, they appear to have travelled very well! I haven't set them up yet as I'm in the middle of renovating my workshop but will be sure to post some pics as soon as I do 🙂

I loved that this went well. Fortune favours the bold. Congratulations on your new pins
