Just got back home from a lovely work/play trip to Corfu, lovely weather, nice pinballs 😜 and great host Panagiotis (ababapanos) and family who could not have made me more welcome......and not a red light or bicycle in sight !
The machines are packaged up to the eyeballs personally by me and Panagiotis and on their way home within the week 🤞
It's got to be said the abuse suffered on this forum is embarrassing and thankfully contained to only a tiny minority, whether trying to help other members or not accusations without facts is not only damaging to character (both parties) but also libellous !

Couldn't agree more. I'd have taken the lot too if I had just a little more bandwidth. Seemed fully legit and a good catch. Well done you and pleased they have gone to a good home.

A little gutted that it wasn't mine!!!
 
Well said tommy I am happy you took the risk enjoyed the holiday and bagged some bargains I also find i disgraceful this poor guy a new member got so much abuse it really is poor and the members who did this should be ashamed we are supposed to give new members a warm welcome not abuse them I have several really good customers that would rather sell to me at a loss than stick pins on here to be ripped to shreds at the end of the day guys it’s your loss

The guy was asking for advice on here way before his ads so thought the accusations were a bit strange, livened this place up a bit though.

Well, I think balance is needed, I hope it doesn’t mean that others might not come out an raise red flags. I got bored of the original thread early on but I’d rather folks spoke out about dodgy dealers than they didn’t. End of day it’s down to the buyer.

Indeed. That and the absolute 'certainty' of one member that this was a scammer, without showing any evidence of it whatsoever. Especially given the fact that they have been shown to be wrong.

Likewise, I have no problem with anyone raising concerns. The way it was done though, was totally out of order.
 
Excellent news after the seller went to great lengths to prove it was a genuine sale... most would have gone elsewhere as soon as the aggro started.

As I said early on, here is the proof some people on here have the guts, resources and intelligence to make things like this happen and filter out their own doubt. @AndyB53
 
So happy that you bagged these machines! That thread was absolutely shameful. At the end of the day we are all a very small minority or wierdos who have one thing in common, we shouldn't be attacking eachother and accusing people of things with no proof at all.

Congrats on picking up some beautiful machines! I hope our friend on Corfu hasn't been scared away from the forum!

I’m apologising to no one Ron -if he’s had a deal fair play but the Dutch /Albanian / Greek uses the same pictures of this guy and his little girl , hence I alerted you all to take caution ! If you want to discuss this matter face to face I’ll be at Daventry .

Wow there’s a knee jerk reaction , I’ve already message Ron to say I’d share a beer with him and explain there are things I can’t mention on here as German fraud have told me to say nothing on open forums , however as previously stated I’ll not apologise ever for warning other people about scammers and con artists! So like I said I’ll discuss with anyone face to face but not across this forum ok
 
Congratulations on the new pins. Great deals there. I know for some folks it might sound weird but even Foreigners might own these machines. Actually they don't even come from England. No really!

Also with the "Have a word in private" type threats. Erm, people who will do you harm won't give you notice. They won't make threats. They will just do it. If you are a 70yr old making physical threats against a 30yr old think about how that's going to pan out realistically. Get your **** sorted.

Neil thankyou - gents I’m going stop any interaction and short of closing my account will have no further interaction with this forum - I simply tried to inform everyone on here of the complex scam I encountered- and the fact that an individual on here that is vending machines has already been removed from PO due to suspected scam !

As for threats it’s laughable trust me Ron I’m not 70 nor do I need to make advanced warnings - I can’t discuss on open forum hence I stated PM .

I’ve bought restored 50/60s slots for a good few years and in that time I’ve never encountered such jealousy, small minded attitude and general opinionated views .

I sincerely hope that tommy receives the machines he has bought and good luck to you all !
 
If all you did was notify everyone about the particular scam you encountered and the details of it, do you think people would have got their back up? Of course not. It was the unfounded accusations that people objected to. It's understandable that you reacted like you did, considering how you felt about being scammed - but I think it's clear it was directed at the wrong person, who despite your doubling-down has literally done nothing wrong other than try to sell his machines.

No need to quit the forum @northantspin this can all be resolved easily enough. Let me kick that off by offering my apologies for calling your previous message threatening, which was out of order.
