Finding time to play / feeling guilty about not playing enough…….

play maybe a couple of hours a week. Get allot of enjoyment in those few hours, probably more than if i played em all the time. Quality not quantity!.

Otherwise the same as others, long hours running my business and if i do get home early enough in the week im to knackered to wanna play (mentally rather than physically)

Found myself watching allot of YouTube vids of late of extreme cold camping in forests and such, strangely relaxing.

What suprised me the most was the amount of firewood they get through to keep the little stoves going, it dont last long does it!.

I’m not sure about it saving money as we have it going with the rest of the heating. However the hallway and stairs are now warmer than our bedroom. It’s quite a comforting thing. Homely. I’ve only been using it for a few weeks but already feel somethings missing without it on and it’s been mild recently!

My new toy is a wood burner where I spend most of my evenings sat across from it, feeding it wood, looking at it and my phone of course!

This is exactly me most evenings now…….

That's your solution for the games room. Tell the wife you're thinking about removing the wood burner and installing it in the games room. See what reaction you get 😂

Does anyone else with an external Games Room have the same issues?

We moved out of London exactly one year ago today. I used to have five pins in a spare bedroom in a flat, a few at a friends place, a couple at my parents place etc - now I have twelve in a dedicated external games room. Some of you may remember my conversion / build thread last summer.

At first I was out there all the time, but whilst the novelty hasn't worn off yet, I am now used to having them all in once place and I've definitely noticed a change in how I play them now that they aren't in the house.

The games room is only a few steps across the car port but I still have to actively decide to go out there, put my shoes on if I'm lying on the sofa etc, so there's a slightly higher barrier to entry than there was when they were just in a room down the hall. So, whereas before I'd go into the old pin room and play a quick game or two fairly regularly, I now go out to the external games room less often, but spend more time in there when I do. I probably play the same number of games a week on average, but more condensed into one or two evenings, instead of a few games most nights of the week.

I know the feeling - it can be hard to drag myself off the sofa and away from the wood burner! I always tell me wife it's my second favourite thing about the house after the pin shack.

That will be my Pinball machine as firewood for the burner…….

I think the bit about there being barriers (be them being small, like going into the garden) with an external Games Room has hit the nail on the head for me!

I literally never play the outside games apart from in the summer. I think I’ve had one game of scarred stiff and maybe a quick game on Metallica since the end of the summer.
I’m barely playing any of the inside ones either. Haven’t turned them on since December apart from one quick game and whatever small skill I used to have had totally gone.

Family stuff, work and the dog are taking up all my time.

I have my GB and Wonka in the dining room, walk past them multiple times a day on my way to the kitchen, but these days they only get turned on once a week - for about an hour every Sunday when my Dad will pop in and try to beat my scores. He prefers GB over Wonka, I think mainly because the ball save is more generous ;) Though this means if I'm being honest with myself, Wonka hasn't had a game played on it in a few months - I will have to fix that this week. None of my friends are remotely interested in playing, it's a bit frustrating. I think part of it is they all think it's just a game about keeping the ball on the playfield and hit-n-hope, despite my urging them to shoot at the flashing targets or even explain some of the rules beforehand - they lose interest quickly. It also doesn't help that GB is a bit punishing with the magna slings and flipper gap, and I never put the extra post on Wonka so the left out lane can sometimes feels like it's got magnets in it.

Funny, I was talking about this the other day too.
Hadn’t played my games for weeks, too busy with work, games outside in cabin which does deter me from going the 15 paces up the garden 😳

The weather has been cold, so I don’t want to turn games on when freezing cold as
Plastics etc can break more easily.., Oh
and they are covered in spare parts.

Today Munsters was collected and I got the place ready for incoming pin. Thought I would have a change up of position of some games.

All I have to do now is tidy up the spares and I’m good to go.
Few pictures- the other side of the room is a right mess..

Work in progress

Maybe always make it your latest pin in the house.
I would put my least favourite in the house if you still don’t play then it’s time to sell. You need the newest to still lure you into the games room to play .When I had stranger things in the kitchen I played it way more often than if it had been in the room next door
