Finally - Rocky & Bullwinkel Decals

You will be able to source a colour of blue that's close enough to do the job from over here and cost a lot less.
Get looking at car centers and diy outlets, you will find what you need.
 
Cheers Daz. I'll get on the case once the decals turn up. Rather sadly I'm actually super excited about the prospect of getting the cabinet all refurbed and redecaled.
 
Yeah, you know that tricky mustard yellow they use on taxi? I found a great colour match in B&Q called Satin Black :rofl:

Joking I am :D they had loads of colours
 
Well that's an easy way to spend a little over £200.

Decals ordered. Hopefully be here in the next week or two. Now it's time to take a load of photos and get that cabinet stripped, sanded and repainted. Wish me luck folks.

Edit: Ahem, of course the sanding won't be happening until I have the decals in my hands. I'd prefer not to leave myself looking stupid if any problems crop up on the decal front...... ;)

I have to say I wouldn't have dared trying something like this - but the examples set by others and the huge amount of support means i'm less worried about the task.

I've already started preparing the cab but the battery on my camera just gave up so i'm not going to continue for now. I need LOTS of reference photos to make sure everything goes back as it should. :-)
 
Good for you, getting stuck in.
There's no better feeling once you have finished the cab and you can stand back and say to yourself, I did that.

The blue makes more sense as the decal is basically a skyline scene. So the nice white fluffy clouds in front of a depressing and gloomy black sky was a bit jarring to me.

A lovely sky blue backdrop looks lovely.
