Favourite pinball moments?

Hitting the left orbit on Spider-Man, when it’s lit for extra ball, black suit multiball, and mode start ( especially if it’s bonesaw), doesn’t happen often, but feels so good.

As for pinball moments, the one that stands out for me, is when the blind fold sheild, comes out on Tommy, the first time that happened, I was like wow, now that is seriously cool, and great theme integration

Spotting the last mansion room in TAF always brings a grin.. As does the sound of Centaur saying "Begin orbian attack" - especially when you have alread had "maxumum orbian strength achieved"

Achieving multiball on Robocop never stops being cool. Bonggg.........

Nailing the Hypersleep ramp lock on Alien, so rewarding I still fist pump the air.

Seeing friends complete Stewie playfield on FG, then sh1tting themselves playing multiball and Stewie pinball simultaneously 🤣

Always enjoy the mega door bonus in Whirlwind, simple by todays standards but with the sound effects and all the awards lighting it still feels like an achievement.

Finding a Sinbad at the local corner shop.
Looking back, they always had the latest machine
Sinbad would have been one of the first solid state machines I played, and those flippers........

Far too many to mention but....

GOT - getting to Iron Throne and scoring billlions.

TZ - Lost in the Zone

TAF - Touring the Mansion

W2O - Just playing it to be honest.

Going for jackpots on Fish Tales. They're not easy shots and it never gets old. I probably shout and whoop at Fish Tales more than any other pin.

The Godzilla building collapsing, the Blue Oyster music...!

Yep, @HomerRamone, 100% Centaur. The four/five-ball multiball has to be the BEST multiball in pinball. The first time I made that happen, that pin was NOT leaving the house.

Elton John also has some pretty amazing moments. I love 'Crocket' multiball (rocket + crocodile) - the crocodile riding a rocket across the screen, the lighting...

As far as games go:
Destroying the ring on LOTR
Starting Horde on Walking Dead
Terror of Mechagodzilla on Godzilla
Lost in the Zone on TZ
Any time spent playing Robocop

As far as personal moments go:
Winning the very first PinHaus comp
Reaching the final at Pinfest in 2019
Rolling Bally KISS at Pinburgh 2019, much more fun to roll a solid state than an EM 😂
Beating @PUP in his comp in his own backyard last year
Touring the Mansion on the first ball at the first Northern pinball league round this year
The absolutely epic game on BSD against @roadshow16 at 8bitflip despite losing

Centaur is the best pinball ever made IMHO

The F14 multiball start is still impressive 35 years on!

Personal moments
Playing Black Knight first out the box on Burnham on Sea pavillion when I was 13
First encountering High Speed - blew everything else away
Playing first in the UK games at Associated Leisure in Burton. Went to buy some old crap once (probably Comet) and Banzai Run was sat in the showroom. WTF is that!!?
Getting my first NIB (batman 66 and IMDN) and picking them up off from Hadfields 5 minutes after the container landed. A very fun evening followed
First pinball expo (1998) - meeting my heroes Steve Ritchie Pat Lawlor Roger Sharpe Jim Patla Paul Faris .. helping George Gomez put the back legs on MB on its first public showing
The ATEI Pinball 2000 launch party. Although now I hate those games LOL
The 6 Black Knight 2000s at the SLAM . The SLAMs in general were awesome
The Electric Circus tournaments especially the Coronation one which was buzzing . thanks guys

My personal favorites - feel free to discuss

Best match sequence - Phantom of the Opera
Best original soundtrack - Swords of Fury
Best original tunes - Torpedo Alley (jackpot ready) Banzai Run (lock lit) Space Station (high score) Black Knight 2000 (power singing) Scared Stiff (trunk multiball)
Most underated games - Demoman, Road Kings, Radical, Genesis
Best theme integration - Indy J Williams
Best art - Fathom
Most over rated - TZ
Most wasted theme - Star Wars again and again
Worst art - Led Zep
Waste of a board set award - Bugs Bunny, Pool Sharks
Waste of wood award - Spinal Tap

"Total balls - a wasted pinball life" coming soon (maybe)

My first encounter with Black Knight was preceded by a hunt for the start button, between my unfamiliarity with Williams games and its being concealed in the artwork (the hilt of a sword)

With High Speed, maybe for once the marketing was on the right lines - 'everything else is left behind'. Though I'd argue there are exceptions, e.g. Flight 2000, Flash Gordon.

HS2 multi ball start always got the blood pumping in my dark arcade room with the flashing beacon.

BK2K super jackpot is a massive rush too with all the flashing lights and sounds.

It’s interesting how many of the games highlighted are from BW days and before.

The TV era Sterns have in general less mechs , less ball holding (virtual locks) and overall less ‘ moments’ I find .
There are exceptions I’m sure .
Also 90s games didn’t tend to throw out multiball modes and jackpots like free candy so there was often a nice sound/light celebration moment when it happened and you felt like you had actually earned them.

Mostly that's just the modern Stern Pros.

A lot of the premiums still accumulate and release 3 balls.

Still, I see where you're coming from.

Modern Stern Prems have some great pinball moments, although the amazing-looking multi balls tend to be the ones aimed at casual players (probably how it should be).

The Godzilla building is among the best toys in pinball, stat.

The Jurassic Park T-Rex throwing the ball is superb and, although easy to get, not super easy for a casual player.

The spinning pizza multiball and the multiball that releases from the van on TMNT is also a real 'moment'.

Pretty much everything about TAF on first play in the early 90s. Total game changer. In hindsight it cost me a shed load of cash.

Any game that does something weird eg the wizard mode in WH20 but also the games that had the random “midnight madness” modes. Given I never set the clocks these could be at any moment. 😂
