Afternoon all and a belated happy new year.
Wasn't able to post in the events thread (unless I just don't know how..)
Anyone going to EAG Expo next week?
Last year(?) Was pretty great; got to play pulp fiction, Jaws, Elton john etc, etc before release.
Anyone know if any of the pinball distros are there this year? (And if so, all.three days, or?)

Cheers!

Pinball Heaven won't be attending as @philpalmer has just welcomed a new addition to his family (congrats, Phil! 🥳)

I'm assuming @David retro is bringing a weird and wonderful variety of pins (?) and Electrocoin is listed as being there with some modern Sterns (inc. D&D?)

I'm registered to attend, but the 'Flipper Beast' is currently off sick with autistic burnout, so I'm either going to have to give it a miss, leave him with my mum, or try to take him with me. If I do take him, it'll be Wednesday and he's currently super noise sensitive, so not sure how long we'll last.

I've already played Metallica Remastered, Uncanny X-Men, JJP Avatar and most of the other new(ish) releases, so I'm only going to go if I can play the crazy s**t (and GTF, because I never get to play enough GTF).

Ah, congrats to Phil and family 👍🏻

I'll be there Wednesday - registered (I think - might have an issue with my emails and have chased it up)
I was a bit under the weather last tine and so didn't spend as much time playing arcades and such as I've liked, but this year aiming to get there earlier and make more of a day of it.
Will say hello if I recognise anyone!

Sadly I won’t make it this year. Super busy with work and can’t really spare the time. Have fun everyone!

I'll be there Wednesday. Jonathan Joosten is flying in to be there Wednesday as well.

Think there will be a talking point or two after today's news (along with a talking pint or two). ;)

What did I miss in today’s news?

Wait about 30 minutes.

Now that IS news!!!!

Met David on several occasions, very nice man and huge fan of pinball in general. Hope we see him back soon

Now that IS news!!!!

After some terrible business decisions, I am not surprised and hopefully they can get someone at the top who can make some good business decisions and push these guys on.

They were recently advertising for roles, so hopefully they are pushing on!

Unfortunately I doubt, there probably just trying to release the final game as it's basically finished.

I predict this year / next to be a sad time for pinball, there too expensive, there realising too many, many with unfinished code. Something will give and if trump implements his china tariff a game next year from stern might end up being £20k for a premium.

Aren't the tarrifs for imports to the US, not sure this will make much difference to UK prices, I suppose it depends how many of Sterns parts are produced in the US and not just assembled there, that would effect the prices if they are bringing in the raw parts from China.
