I'm massively torn.

On one hand Id love an original CC, but if CCr has finished code, why the hell would you choose the original over the remake. They'll just become a museum piece.

But still on the fence. Heart vs brain.

Also I wish they didn't have a stupidly large "DMD"

If you buy the entry level one I don’t think it will have the big display

The pauper model also doesn’t have color screen so you can squint at the screen in glorious 90’s orange - turn on one of your other pins for that authentic hum [emoji23]

What would make sense to me is be able to select original code or updated code either when you press START or even boot up.

ie - hold left flipper button whilst booting for original code.

So many rumours going around. I have heard dozens from reliable people in the trade but wait and see.

I owned this game for 2 days back in the early 2000s.

Thing is, i personally wouldn't want new code, just finished code. Hope they don't get too creative, the license is a bit of history that needs respecting, and for me that includes the look and feel of the 90s (including a ruleset representative of that vintage)

As soon as there was rumours about Lyman being involved LOL

Let's not forget CCC has been out for years and was a bloody damn good update to 'finish' it.

Why they didnt just use that is beyond me. Rewriting it make no sense to me. If they dont keep the original feel for it then its a weird thing to 'remake'..

'Try again Big Fella' ...

I'd like to have an original coded version remade that i can upgrade to CCC later myself !!

Or maybe we just buy this then rip all the **** out and put a ccc upgrade in it..

CGC has developed a new pinball Operating System

The game will have remake firmware as well as new enhanced code

CGC consulted with original CC team to understand the original intent - if game had been fully finished"

Looks like it’s right up your street Tim!

Interesting, i remember years back the original programmer was going to finish the game but wanted 'big money' back then when the original remakes were announced and so it didn't happen. A load of talk and no action... Then eric came along and made all his work irrelevant anyway. I dont think he was too chuffed, but he had plenty of chance to release an update for the original before ccc was even started , so whatever. Updates for games were rare back then.

Eric got original voice actors to do extra sound/speech calls in the same way to match the original as the speech list is pretty lacking on the original, so did they do this too? Its not just the coding that needed updating, then there's all the graphics work that needed to be done to

Until we get a view of the game who knows but I will say this for CGC - they got a hold of the artists on MM and AFM snd added art and topper stuff so I believe that if they are available to work with CGC then CGC will make it happen.

Loved CC when I had it, but only had longevity because of CCC - it was too simplistic otherwise
Like I said - I owned Nick Bennets for two days before - and have played CCC on Vpins an awful lot. Improves the game so much.

I do not know why they just did not do this code but must be a reason. CCC does borrow bits from other WPC games like AFM/MM/SS in a tribute mode. Perhaps this was a pain in the back side to get round licensing.

To be fair CGC machines are so well made. I would not hesitate having any of them. But it is getting them.

Obviously they are making them now, looking at the photos. So should not be too long to wait.

Yes. And I'll disagree with Neil on this. His might have been solid so far but they're still covered in cellophane lol. Ask that question in 25 years they'll be one clear answer...

I might be referring to another post not in this thread (or i drempt it), but the point was servicability of remakes vs original
