A rare opportunity to acquire a very original Bally Flash Gordon. With matching serial numbers.
This game has been in storage since 1990! It has the following original parts:
Backglass.
Playfield. (With original Mylar).
All original displays. (With matching serial numbers).
Original squawk and talk pcb. (With matching serial numbers).
Original charcoal grey legs.
Original backglass lockbar and key.
The following work has been carried out.
PCBS.
Re-flowed rectifier pcb.
The following connectors replaced and repinned:
A8-J1
A3-J3 and J4.
A5-J3.
A4-J2 J3 and J4.
TMS5200 chip replaced and re-socketed on squawk & talk.
This should make it pretty reliable going forward.
Alltek mpu. And lamp driver pcb. (Connected up for led’s.)
All displays repaired and connectors re-flowed. (100% operating).
Top pop bumper coil replaced.
New superbrite big daddy strobe pcb.
New twin 5.25” JBL speakers.
Replacement feet for rear of cabinet.
PLAYFIELD.
Completely stripped cleaned and polished with a few subtle touch-ins. This is an original and is in very good condition. Has a bit of Mylar bubble but does not effect gameplay. One of the best originals we have seen in a very long while.
New cpr plastic set.
Flippers rebuilt with new flippers and eos switches.
New planetary pinball correct “red” shade posts.
New rubbers, and flipper rubbers. (Superbands).
New set of drop targets.
Spinners re-decaled and set to rip. (35+ spins).
Comets thru out. (G.I. And inserts) note: where lamp holders were unreliable led light bars were fitted.
Replacement shooter rod springs and rubber.
Apron resprayed and new decals and apron cards fitted.
CABINET.
New flipper switches.
Original artwork with below average red fade. (Tin of Flash Gordon red included as the rear of the cabinet could do with a respray.
(Note that the usual operators backbox black cover up has occurred).
Original dark grey legs. Could do with a restoration. Could be talked into it for a few beers......
New feet and bolts.
New spiral nails in siderails. Metalwork hand polished only but looks pretty good.
New coin door decal.
New shooter lane protector.
BACKGLASS.
Excellent original. Has one touchup on sword otherwise very nice indeed.
Lamp board resprayed white. All lamps replaced with candescent. Working strobe.
Full trim kit. Polished ss lift rail and new edge trims.
Plays great, fast and a lot of fun!
Points to note:
1. Legs could do with paint.
2. Some minor playfield wear and Mylar lift.
3. Slightly faded cabinet with some touching up, rear cabinet needs a repaint.
Otherwise very nice indeed.
4. Metal ramps have slight pitting but nice n shining.
5. Could do with a couple of new pop bumper caps if your fussy.
6. Probably did stuff that I have completely forgotten about.....
