American Pinball’s Next Game……..

For me Houdini suffers from the same problems Spooky games do.

It just felt like an inferior game compared to stern or jjp.

The lcd graphics were really amateur. Not the key point but it gives an indication of the experience of the people who designed it.

The layout just wasn’t fun for me. It didn’t shoot smoothly. Nothing felt instinctive. Even early 2000 stern games had more of a fun factor (well maybe not 24).

Rampshots bricked a lot. Shots also regularly failed to register.

I actually like quirky games. Some of my favourites are Sega games. For me the game simply missed the fun factor.

I think I had it for the first part of the pandemic and even despite that I didn’t turn it on for months on end. Simply nothing drew me to it.

It’s one of the few games I genuinely don’t miss (up there with the Munsters, avatar and surprisingly IJ.).

Other people may well love the game but I’d be very reluctant to buy another one of their games without playing it first.
