So the gun barrel sequence is an original version by Stern, the music however is Connery era.
Specifically Goldfinger, Thunderball and Diamonds are Forever.

There was a noticeable changed in the barrel theme when Moore took over.

In regards to Connery from Russia with love being the first had a different sound/tone compared to the the next Connery entry’s but once again changed for you only live twice before going back to the previous one for Connerys return in diamonds.

No chance EON won’t acknowledge never say never again they will always go with Thunderball.

Both created from the same screenplay though which is why they are almost identical.

This is the kind of Bond geekery I appreciate. If it's going to be based on a Connery I hope it's Goldfinger or From Russia With Love. Diamonds Are Forever isn't great imo. Thunderball would work too but I'd prefer the earlier two
 
Having started a few months ago, at the beginning and now up to Skyfall, my origins view of Connery and Moore has changed. There are some good elements but overall, these films didn’t move me much other than to cringe.
Thunderball was almost a chore to watch.
GoldFinger is a classic but dated.
Diamonds are forever was almost a comedy.

But I have no money spare to buy NIB so am not the audience for this machine

Guessing when they said to some that the next release won’t have a price increase that was when Venom was next, guess it’s easier to pull people in with Bond and a price increase than one with Venom.
