Definitely give them as much sanding as possible to rough up the surface for the acid etch primer. I also put on some rust treatment prior to priming in the corners where the sander couldn't reach.

For some reason my Rollergames came with something like 3x 28" and 1x 31" leg
You just have to put the leg levellers right up on the shorter 3 legs

They are normally pretty helpful
