The ones that came with my Arena are so rusty they're tango orange and look unrecoverable... Interested in any nice, or not so nice 27" ones (or slightly shorter if they exist) so long as they can be cleaned up with the tin-foil trick.

Can buy or swap with a decent set of Bally/Williams legs. Ta.

Get what you have blasted and Power Coated.
Any colour you want.

And if they are truly terrible, then some powder coaters have the facility to acid dip them first, which effectively removes the outer layer of corroded metal giving a flatter final finish

Got a set of 28 and 31

Thanks Dave. The machine is quite high with 27" on now (for me anyway) so will pass for now.... Can you get less than 27"?

Think got them at Marco but shipping will be a killer...

Yeah, will have to do something with the existing ones if no luck. Cheers.

And tax!

Marco won't marc the price down on the customs forms, so you'll be paying full import duty ontop of both the leg price and the shipping price. Completely un-feasible to import legs from the US

Try one of the German or French suppliers instead

Good advice there from Luke.

I have smaller ones,BUT I can see they were cut/welded - they are on my ramones

Gottliebs tend to sit higher, this would be the only solution - or raise ALL your others!

You're forgetting John lives in a cottage with lower than average ceiling.

Can't imagine you can beat that?

Nice one, cheers. Not sure sure how I missed those the other night.... Next challenge, find me some dark blue satin paint, colour matched to the cab ! :D

John, I'm pretty sure you can as Dawn has much shorter legs on her RCT and would probably happily swap them for longer ones now that her boys have grown. Want me to ask her?

(do you know Dawn? From organising tournaments etc ? Raisons to be cheerful?)

Cheers Dan, yes if you could ask the size of them, thanks. I've just ordered the new 27" ones from BOP (in my usual impatience), same as the nasty ones already fitted and the machine is notably higher with them. Not so bad if you're tall, unlike myself..... I don't know Dawn BTW, I don't think so anyway.

Cheers.

i've asked Dawn and she agrees to measure them when she gets home (currently abroad for work) and is also up to the idea of a straight swap for longer legs, so it should be possible. maybe do the swap at the slam?

Remember - with legs you cant just "paint" over the top of the chrome...

I have a set of Blue legs on Wh2o that I am advised came from Manny. They are sprayed blue directly over the top of the chrome. The slightest knock and the blue paint comes straight off, revealing the chrome underneath.

Powder coating deffo the way to go, unless the Chrome is stripped before painting, which would work then i suspect....

Cheers Dan, I'm presuming these are in decent or workable condition. A Slam exchange would be perfect if they work out OK.

Not sure what to do with the old Gottlieb ones Paul. Had though about Hammerite smooth (black?) but probably wouldn't work as you say...

take em into anywhere, metal platers, powder coaters, and they should be able to dip-strip them for you for a few £. Then all you need to do is prime/spray.

The issue is that anything sprayed onto chrome base will chip and look awful...

I'm going to spray the legs for my FG black and that's onto chrome but am using a car acid etch primer first to see if that gives better adhesion....anyone tried this before and what were the results?

Don't know and can't help but I thought you had to remove the chrome to help paint adhere to the metal.

I have roughed up the surface with a sander but you can still tell there's chrome on them. F*ck it, I'll give them a blast this weekend, see what happens and report back :)

The report on painting my FG legs is very promising. Used acid etch primer followed by black gloss car paint then finished with clear lacquer (all bought from Halfords) and the results are really good. The paint seems to have bonded well but only time will tell I guess :)

Looks really good Chris, I didn't think they would come up as good as they have.
Biggest test now is seeing if they resist the pain of the bolts tightening and see if they are chip resistance.
Like you say time will tell but great job by the way.
