It's that time again folks! time to air your dirty laundry and admit how much this hobby has taken over you life .
How many machines did you move in or out in 2024? Events? comps? trips abroad for pinball?

Another quiet year for me machines wise, making it all the way to December before getting anything new!

As this is the tenth time I've posted this annual thread I thought I'd total up my machine movements.... I bought 42 machines and sold 38!

I got to many comps this year, including trips to Tiltx4, PBRx5, SWLx3, Medway, Pinball Office, Pinfest, & the UK Open!
Oh and we started the South Wales Pinball League! so 6 league meets, and a special guest spot at Mr.Moose's league meet up norf. No wonder the millage is up on my car this year!. It's great getting to know so many people at all these comps, the added benefit being many nights out ( admittedly most are in Wetherspoons )

Also a great trip with the pinball museum gang to the Dutch Pinball Museum in Rotterdam ( awesome place! ). Think there were about 26 of us! We've previously been to museums at Krakow, Budapest and the original Dutch Pinball Museum. I'm not sure if I can make this years trip but for anyone interested this year it's Brussels in March.

On a personal note Lorraine and I got married in September so that was the highlight of my year, and yesterday we became grandparents again .

Looking forward to another great year in this mad hobby

woke up from pinball slumbers in April and remembered i liked pinball. I still had 2 left (TSPP, AFM).

2024
In: CFTBL (celebratory tattoo), MM, MB, TAF, TZ, NGG, POTC, SOP, RG - total back to 11. Got a new motrtgage and spent it a big chunk oof it on these toys.
In: Andy Capp £4 jackpot fruity
Spent Aug-Dec unemployed and reconsidering selling them all again one to one to pay bills, or getting a lodger. Thankfully landed a job starting January so sales plans abandoned.

2025 plans:
Rotate my pins, maybe sell 1 or 2 if they don't gel like last time; maybe consider getting another Shadow, Dracula, Whitewater, ACDC or even my first Walking Dead. Realised i enjoy the diagnosis & fix-up aspect more than i relaised, so would be looking for the players/project condition end machines; hopefully plenty of social events, most likely 0 tournaments. the scores mean nothing to me, i just enjoy flailing about nd hitting bash toys and having machines insult me with sarcasm. Always up for swaps but spaace limited to 3 at home, 9 in ex's garage.

Have also started a new league running at Level, 2 rounds and the pilot event have gone well so far. Getting more into organising and running things up north with a lack of others doing so outside of the league, someone has to get their hands dirty I guess! Also built a streaming / recording rig and started the Preston Pinball Twitch and Youtube channels

Happy new year all, congrats Kevlar on the grandchild too, hope all is well.

Finally got my first pin this year with GZ pro, absolutely loving it and even the family, including the wife are getting involved!

For this year I'm doing a garage conversion and extension to make a proper pinball room, I'll have room for 4, 5 at a push.

Looking at the line up, I'm thinking either UXM Pro, Jaws Prem, or Venom Prem are in my top 3 for next purchases but the wife would love Elton John too.

This year I need to get back my mojo , getting back to league meets , finish off a tardis mod on dr who and to make a life size tardis !!

Nothing in, nothing out, no events attended. Did manage a trip to Budapest pinball museum which cemented my belief that a game has to be simple for me to enjoy it. Loved Indiana Jones and Twilight Zone but the early 80s Williams and Bally games captured me more than everything else on show.

The single lone pinball at home is still played and tinkered with every day so the force is still strong.

A quiet one as GZ prem was in the house allot longer than pins usually last

Was swapped for a EHOH which didn’t last long. Think I felt the hole GZ left as just didn’t gel with it

EHOH left and was replaced the Foo Prem I have now that’s rekindled the pinball mojo a bit.

Always had a soft spot for JJP so would like Avatar, Toy Story, the god farther or Elton next.

Only real place visited was arcade monsters in FL. Pinball office on the list next year.

Like Kevlar my first game in was in December; a Tron LE (the second one I've owned and still my favourite machine). Nothing out as I've not owned any games since 2019 (Bally Knockout EM). I've had over 50 games pass through my hands since the Summer of 2009.

Getting back into pinball after a few years on the side-lines. I've just bought a place back in Kettering with room for 4/5 games, after having lived in the other half's tiny place in Northampton for the last few years. I've got a Labyrinth on order due later this year from the second batch . Took early retirement last year, so a bit of spare cash left for a few more games once we have moved over fully to Kettering.

Visited Pinfest in Daventry in August, but little other pinball activity otherwise. Will try to visit Tilt in Birmingham again this year, and Pinball Republic too. I haven't played much on the most recent games yet, so need to catch up with a few games on these on location.

You mean JJP GnR?

If you refer to the remake, JJP’s Pirates (2018), thereby acknowledging that the original POTC was the Stern 2006 classic, then you should also acknowledge that “GnR” means the Data East original and superb machine from 1994, and not the JJP 2020 remake that is universally considered inferior (same as the above POTC remake).

Similarly, ‘Godzilla’ should technically be referred to as Stern GZ 2021, rather than the original Sega GZ 1998, even though in the case the remake is generally considered the better *playing* machine. I still think the 1998 game *looks* a million times better though.

I think my nitpicking work here is done
