Bastard game.

What's wrong with this picture?

Yes, as illustrated, Light Cycles is the only insert on the ladder not lit up solid (ignoring Portal).

Got to Sea of Simulation on my 3rd ball to complete GEM, Disc and Light Cycles... Must've had my Weetabix this morning because I motored through Gem and the Discs, only to be left with a single ****ing light cycle staring me in the face. Needless to say i drained with about 110million and have yet to reach the Portal - let alone doing it without going via SOS. How can something so obviously achievable be so annoyingly difficult, and yet i keep trying, again and again.... Light Cycle Multiball is the bane of my life...

How can you hate this game? Yes the GEM shot is very hard, but it's doable - if perhaps more reliably off the TRON targets. Just don't get me started any more on the Light Cycles..

And i only went in there for a tea break.

I thought it would be Gem for most people than Light Cycle that they are missing for Portal.

Sweet looking machine and I like what you've done with the lighting on it

Gem and Light Cycle are always the ones left. Both are b*stards.

@Monkeyboypaul , I've had soooo many games just like you've described and as Carl says, it's what gets you always going back. You get so close, so many times...... it literally has me with my head in hands sometimes, that or a swift walk away with a muttering of obscenities when in that position and the ball drains.

I've only been to Portal 2 or 3 times and end up panicking when there and failing miserably.

Keeps you coming back for more though doesn't it :D

Yes. Bastard thing!

Lovely looking game Paul.

Cheers.

Gem's ok-ish, particularly if i use the Tron targets to rebound off. Think it's R that seems to work best (might be bull**** though), but the direct shot is a pain. The GI is partially Comet's Optix Max bulbs, purple down the left, blue/amber in the slings and top left/right corners, Ice blues in the top middle, plus standard sterns in the rest. had to remove some from under the ramps though, way too bright. Nothing in the backboard (took all 6 out).

2 or 3 times more than me mate! My head was literally dropped onto my fists earlier, repeatedly... FYI - I've still not put your funky ROM in there yet. Do plan to, but not till i've played the game enough to know what to expect & therefore appreciate the differences. Hooked up to an old external Mission subwoofer (shared with ST) with stock speakers - sounds brilliant already.

Keep at it ! Best music and sound ever in a pinball IMO.

I put frosted dome LED's in my playfield backboard. Work well.

Don't forget it's for the Pro Version machine..... yours an LE or extensively custom modded Pro?

Gem shot is harder in the LE, no bouncing the ball off any TRON standup targets on the LE version.

I still miss my Tron LE! :(

Absolutely a Pro, couldn't justify the extra cost of an LE - prefer another whole game.

Thought the same myself when Phil of Pinball Heaven had an LE available last year. Worked out over £2K to add on top of Pro value. There's loads of great mods for the Pro anyway (note you have the same cool pop bumper caps).

isn't there a rubber behind the drops you could use? I'll bet.

Naturally i'd prefer the LE, as i would prefer the premium/LE of any game - why wouldn't anyone want all the features? But, given the price difference, the only thing i'm 'missing' is the TRON scoring call outs i.e. "double scoring is active on the grid", they're just not there on the Pro for some odd reason - but the Eli ramp fibres have a special code colour and flash for Double Scoring, so no biggy. Not sure i'd like the blinky LEDs on the LE either. LED OCD board all the way on this Pro :)

A few others have asked for the Pro remixed music ROM that I modified from the one done in the US. Don't want anyone to be dissapointed and lose their high scores as a result.... so will try do a quick vid later to show the music changes, then you can decide.

What are the differences between the pro and le

Besides a couple of grand :), you are missing Daft Punk multi ball, a moving recogniser above the spinning disc, TRON Drop targets rather than stand ups, LED inserts, slightly different playfield art and of course the colour changing EL wire on the ramps.

Don't forget that super special plaque ;) And all that lovely chrome.

Can you retro-fit drops into a Pro?

I did see a short video where someone in the US did this, he wanted an LE but they had finished at this point so he bought a Pro and make it as close to the LE as possible, including the drops.

Damn that looks good, get a blue DMD in there and you're all set

Just waiting to see what Colour DMD release. Contacted them 6 months ago and they said it was being worked on. Could just get one anyway in hope and set it to Blue.

Or white - still looks good (shameful scores though)
