I have sold many of these kits to Australia with a few pinball dealers buying 10 kits at a time but I thought I should post about their availability here for those who may not know about them and want a small challenge. Many have been built up and are running well.
The kit is supplied complete with all parts required to finish it off EXCEPT the Micro, EPROM & ASIC as these can almost always be re-used from your old board. A NOS (and tested) RAM is supplied as these are usually soldered to the original board and almost impossible to salvage.
Also included is a button battery option and a 3 x AA holder with remote cable including a plug & socket. You can choose your backup battery option. We are unable to supply batteries as these can no longer be sent in the post.
I.C. sockets are included for all spots where they are required as well as for U20 and all the input LM339,s to make future servicing easier. Also included is a PLCC removal tool to make removing the ASIC easier.
You need to supply a soldering iron with a fine tip, some 0.6 or 0.8mm rosin cored solder (preferably LEADED type - that's lead as in the metal, not the connecting arms of a component) and sidecutters. A medium skill level is required to complete this project successfully and it is NOT for the beginner to soldering or electronics. We supply assembly tips ONLY, not a full manual.
The kits can be seen at the link below and on that page is a downloadable ZIP file that I suggest you investigate before considering a purchase. Most people who have built them have loved the experience of being able to make a new MPU themselves - the "I built it myself" factor.
Homepin in not able to provide any faultfinding assistance at all should you have issues building your board so please consider that also before a purchase. This is the 5th run of these boards and over 200 have now been assembled so we know they work - the assembly is up to you.
