Not been able to fix problems with my own, still has intermittent fault.... so looking for a Williams System 9 MPU.

Will pay a good price for one confirmed tested and fully working.

Game hangs occasionally, something to do with memory protect circuit. Tests working then plays up again.... used batteries and nvram, same issue. Struggling to get Jim or Luke to fix as tests working then progressively does same thing again.

Sorry if obvious, but if it fails over time does this suggest increasing resistance somewhere caused by heat and then a reduction in voltage ?

For the relevant circuits ... Reflow and clean pcb pins. New crimp connectors. Change capacitors and bridge rectifier?

Maybe....... been to tech already so hopefully already looked at that, will check though. Ta.

For info, doing the problem from cold now too with error code 7 (CPU lockup) and 5 occasionally (memory protect circuit) , still intermittent. Looks more like a chip issue.

I may have chance of a System 9 board, but also looking for System 11 (nothing) too in case that doesn't come through. Looks like this is the next option with custom ROMS.

Still looking for either System 9 or System 11 (nothing) board. Ta.

Hi,

I could put on my bench and see if I can simulate the fault?

Cheers

Thanks for the offer... weirdly it hasn't done it for the last three switch on's.

Can you PM with an idea of cost to look at it (with or without fix)? Looks like you're not far away, cheers.
