I’m looking for a Williams coin door like the one in the below photo. If anyone has one for sale, please let me know.
Thanks
Ant

Cheers for the offer Chris. Ideally I’m after a raised coin door. However if nothing shows up I may take that 3 coin slit one you have.

I thought that the type you prefer was heading back towards the older Williams stainless steel door (last seen on Space Shuttle) - the same door could be used for single, twin or triple chutes, with different attachments fitted.

I believe that the one I’m ideally after was what originally came on T2’s, which is what I want one for.
They seem to be hard to come by so I’m starting to look at other options as a back up.

As I recall, it came in around the time of Banzai Run And Swords of Fury. The u.k. production quotas changed to an 'ECA' door right at the end of System 11 (Riverboat Gambler), but other territories used it for longer. France had preceded the u.k. with using Electronic Coin Acceptor, but Germany and Holland held on to the S 10 type. Work bought some Dutch spec games with them (Funhouse, Bride of Pinbot, Indy), and I fitted Eca ones, fabricating additional wiring and altering the interface boards to control a C220 acceptor.

Though saying that, the Dutch spec Indy actually had another different type, 'DBV' (Dollar Bill Validator). Two S 10 slots were squeezed over to the right, with detachable panels on the left where a note acceptor could be fitted.

I had a massive supplus of one slot WPC type doors with no mech but all the hardware and wiring and the going rate was under £30 . Unless a door is new old stock or immaculate that would see a fair price for any door.

We have 3 games at the electric circus that have the worst possible door - a system 11 converted to a single slot running an MS111 through an interface still on old coins. just about get these to take 20p but everything else is a loss. The older games cant justify a big spend to get them to take 50p peices. Just not popular enough. Anything with a S10 mech is great as the genius that is Terry Sullivan has no issue fettling with old 10p and 50p mechanical mechs to get them to take the current 50p

As I see it , supplied to the UK from factory , games up to Space Shuttle had the silver door , up to Funhouse had the 3 slot door and then up SWEP1 had the single slot designed to take a C220 and for PIN 2000 a Cashflow 330

We need 3 of door type 2 or help to sort out door type 4 - the rubbish door! Even 2 slot US doors are good - converting 25c to 50p is a bit more fettling but has been done on Rick and Morty. 90% of faults in the arcade are coin mech related - jams , foreign objects and just failing for no reason. This happens on Stern games quite often.

Ant,

Referring to your other thread, that Terminator 2 you're assembling seems to have had an Eca door originally; the interface board in the cabinet is equipped to control a C220. But the type you've originally shown wouldn't be affected by that, and the example in the flyer has one.

Steve,

I have to admit that I also fitted a couple of the horrible items you label door 3. One I recall was to a Black Knight 2000. Apart from being the right size, there's not much to praise about them. The mechanism's mounted too high, leaving a large gap between it and the cash box lid (if there is one). Speaking of the lid, towards the end of System 11 lids sometimes had the centre slot enlarged, I took this to be for territories already using the Eca door.

But to me the worst instance of losing the original door is Taxi. It's a minor thing, but the sticker pointing out the Start button (disguised as the green traffic light) is a nice touch.

The wiring on the coin mechs that were fitted to my T2 looked like it had been cut and spliced together to fit the interface board.
So am I right in thinking the one in the eBay link will be ok with the board I have on my T2?

Looking at the 3-slot door linked by @Dex-Jay, the wiring visible would connect to J 3 on the interface board, leaving J 4 unused. The Getaway it came from wouldn't have had J 4 or the bank of switches fitted either, but having them on your T2 wouldn't be any hindrance to using a door like that. You'd have the option of using a u.k. type door with '220' acceptor, but it doesn't lock the machine into only using that. The diagnostic controls, three coin switches, slam tilt, entry lamps, etc, are all contained in J 3.

The stuff I used to add when converting to Eca was all concerned with the electronic acceptor via J 4; coin channel 4, power and earth, select/inhibit lines, etc.

PS the u.s. listing had ended when I looked, but the door had lost the orange plastic coin entry fittings (the entry slots themselves, and the push-in reject buttons)

Ok great thanks for the info 👍🏻. I ended up getting that coin door. Put in a cheeky offer and they accepted it.
Ive got a few spare parts so hopefully I can make it work.
