I'm taking a pin to the Replay show in a few weeks, but have just changed my car to a Mk6 Golf. Has anyone managed to get a normal sized pin in the back of a Mk 6 Golf?

Cheers guys, I hadn't checked that list, but it's not on there anyway. So question remains - anyone successfully managed this houdini-like feat - it's borderline checking with a tape measure, but will ahev to give it a try if no-one's managed it before?

Alternatively, is anyone coming past J15/J16 on the M6 to/from Reply with space for another pin, in return for some fuel money?

I don't know what the size difference is between a MK5 and a MK6 (you could probably find the spec sheets for both on google) but I borrowed a MK5 golf once to transport Indiana Jones (Williams wide body)

The only issue is that you have to unbolt the head and wiggle is around to get the pin in heightwise, but it worked fine

I got one into a mk4 with the backbox removed, I should imagine that you would have to do the same to get into any golf, can't remember if there was room in these for the backbox though even when separated

No. I've a mk5 Golf & can't get a machine in even with the head unbolted & down the table, always backbox off. May be due it being 4wd & not having as much clearance as a standard Golf. Believe I read a mk6 has less clearance a few years ago so you're gonna struggle.
Missus bought a Yeti a couple of months back. "What car should we get?". Me. "Not bothered as long as it takes a pin". Brilliant motor.
Alan.

i just had the exact same convo with my missus last week. word for word.
(apart from the yeti bit, i've no idea what you're on about with that one, is it even a car?)

jesus. serious, a skoda?

hahahahahahah no offence Alan.
a skoda though?
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahh etc

no seriously, they've sorted out their image.

In 2011, the Yeti appeared on BBC's Top Gear programme. Presenter Jeremy Clarkson declared it to be possibly the best car in the world and used 20 minutes of the programme putting the Yeti through a number of challenges to support his point.

I'm more likely to carry it on my back . I'm quite sad about having to drive a Golf tbh.

Anyhow, from all the posts I guess I'll be hiring a white van anyhow :)

With the backbox on? I didn't think a Bally/Williams would slide in?
If I am wrong then that might mean the old girl can stay for a bit longer as at the moment it has a lot of boost but not enough boot.

****e for pins

Thats why I got a Honda Jazz - that fits Sterns,Wms,Zaccs all folded down.Plus if split even a pin 2k.
Gottliebs like sys 3 cant on early Jazz but can on later ones.

Backbox unbolted and slid forward, you have to wiggle it abit, but you don't need to remove it

Well I'll find out about whether it fits in the Mk VI in about 30 mins - here's hoping, or tomorrow's gonna be a pain the **** trying to get something else organised :-)

My big guns wouldnt fit in my wife's golf without taking the backbox off.

Might be lucky with more modern pins as the hinge is lower down.

It fitted in :-) The backbox had to be taken off the hinges and pushed right down the body as far as the wires would stretch, but it went in with mm to spare :-) All delivered now. Rows of video cabs already there, and loads of other video gaming stuff - just a few pins so far, but Mark and Darren were waiting on a couple of vans to turn up tonight...late night for those guys.

Mark and Darren and Dave and Poi and all the rest of the NLP gang, we salute you. I will buy you all a beer this weekend
