My garage / games room has been in about 5 different configurations over the last 48 hours and it's still a mess.

Going to have a break until next weekend, going to strip down the black shelves and move things around which is going to be a right pain in the rear.

Going to dismantle one of the arcade cabs for spares as the wood has always been a bit tatty anyway.

I think my best option is to position two pinball machines back to back on the left hand side, should give me enough space to play everything and get the glass off when needed.
Having the pinball across the room is much better for space but can't get the glass out which is a pain.

I have 4 pins that I need to jack the front up to get the glass out to clear the one opposite but easily enough room between them and play,

That is great use of space.

My garage isn't wide enough for that kind of layout, but could have them facing each other going down the wall rather than back to back. Only issue then is the back of the back box will be on display.

Consoles and games take up soo much space i gave up collecting them in the end and havent missed them atall.. all the messing about when you do set them up only to put them back away not long after. You see rooms on youtube full of games on shelves like a video shop and most dont even touch them.
Guilty of it myself years ago but gotta think of the space and stress keeping them all when most work on a pi now.
I first sold the games off and bought multi carts for the systems then when i realised i still didnt play them enough that was it

Guilty too. But I've not long cut back, I used to collect for so many systems. I've cut back to just Master System and Mega Drive boxed and a few other subsets.
It's the boxed accessories and consoles that take up space. I must have 12+ tubs of consoles too. Add a couple of CRTs and PVMs and you quickly run out of space.
I'm not ready to go full pinball just yet.

That mental looking room would stress me out no end, space is always an issue in this hobby without collecting loads of other tat too... I started on consoles went to arcades and then pins but at one stage I decided enough was enough as I had tat all over the house and shed too, sold off vast majority of console collections, only kept vectrex stuff and a dreamcast with gdemu.. Helped fund pinball stuff too and I didn't miss anything, currently 1 room with arcades in (but thinning that down too at the moment and pinshed has 4 machines and one in the kitchen but, still got a couple with a mate that ill be shifting soon too.. Easy get overwhelmed with these things.. Best to thin the herd and keep only absolute essentials in my experience

This is mid restructure, I don't normally have a desk piled that high of crap. I do still have a range of systems, but much reduced than it used to be.

Don’t you have a house attached to your garage? I find it much easier to put pinballs in a room in the house and move excess furniture and belongings into the garage.
There is a possibility down the line of something similar, but not yet.
Have one arcade cab in the living room which is enough for in the house at the moment.

There is a very fine line between being a collector and a hoarder. Get rid of all the crap and you'll have plenty of room. I can't talk really as I'm getting to the point where I'm having to tombstone incoming machines and offering them out to local businesses due to lack of space.

😂 Sadly been here a long time and it's an ongoing battle with space and reality. In my head it all fits.

Honestly you wouldn't believe how much I've cut back already. I'm going to be removing an arcade cab and a few other bits too, should be enough to make it work.

Think I would rather see the back of one than one not being there😎

I have loads of space here for more pins (30 plus more) but I promised myself I’m not spilling out of that room which was built for 10 but I can get 14 plus in there but 12 is what I’m happy with. Plus the prices now are insane otherwise I might have started the overflow plan!

Dangerous/obsessive hobby this😮‍💨

They'd still be there but back to back rather than facing like you have. I'll sort something out that works for my space. Good to see your setup though. 👍
I'm trying to avoid invading the house as much as possible.

Definitely don’t want in the house if you can help it, I’m lucky I have another room upstairs in the garage and outbuilding to overflow into but if I was single and won the lottery I would have them all😂

I moved my 2 pins, candy and cocktail cabs out of the box room and into the bigger spare bedroom. Bizarrely I'm finding it harder to fit everything in because of the shape of the room and where the door and window are!

You can always store stuff under pins.. Ditch the shelves and create as much room as possible for pins :)
I have some green storage containers that can go under the pins - will look at maximising them. But I'll also try and give enough room for the sub and possibly some lighting in the future.

Agreed; never had an out of control MD and SFC collection, but sold off a bunch, as was juat using flash carts for the most part (or emulators)
Have the below pictured stuff left, but it's pretty mich just decoration now, so likely will just sell off. Have too many arcade sticks (madcatz tournament sticks and such) so will shift a couple of those too.
Just been a bit put off by ebay of late; too easy for buyers to rip you off and get refunds etc.

Ohhhhh nice Ntscj collections too. Must resist asking how much...... But the cover art is sooo nice. 🙈

Maybe I'll put a for sale ad up soon 👍🏻
Only rare(ish) carts I have are R-type third lightning and Demon' Crest (JPN cart only)

@FinalFight ; have 2 jpn boxed copies of Final Fight One for GBA and also the Jpn Final Fight CD (used to have the PAL version, but sold that a few years back.
I remember the time I bought The Terminator for Mega CD from a place called That's Entertainment in Romford years back (£1.99 I think it was) - years later it was going for about £100 and so sold it (still with the process sticker on it:-)

Evening all,
So I'm going to list a bunch of stuff; what do you think is the best way to do it?; separate posts by console?

Thinking about some of the stuff I have, I'll be listing;

Jpn megadrive games
Jpn supernintendo - super famicom games
Boxed pal dreamcast (one of the ones which can play CDRs - still have some cdrs I think)
Some dreacast arcade sticks
Jpn Sega Saturn with step-down plug- pseudo saturn cart and loads of cdr games (bit reluctant to sell that - will have to think hard)
Boxed (bit tatty) saturn 3d controller
Atleast one Madcatz tournament stick (prob a Marvel vs capcom ps3 one)
Some jpn and maybe Pal gamecube games (not many)
Unboxed Pal model one megadrive - has 50/60Hz/region switches with great RGB scart lead
Krix mgadrive flash cart with sd card full of megadrive and master system roms.
Unboxed Super Famicom with controller
A Boxed Cyberpunk xbox one X with controller (not retro I know- apologies)

Probably some other stuff like Rtype delta jpn and final fight cd (jpn) - Possibly a Boxed Open Source Scanline converter.
