.... to secure boards onto the metal plate in the backbox? I have lots of missing ones so I delved in my random hardware bag and found these - what should I use?

The various other stick things are there to help you describe what is good to use. I coulda made a grid instead but .... meh

It's the one that is to the left edge, under the red plastic arrow. It has a captive washer on it. Posidrive.

/sigh ... and i thought you were one of the mature ones here.

when are you making me my DMD clock anyway? i'm still waiting for it

The two highlighted look to be too long and thin if it's a DE game.

If they're being used to mount the PCB's then it's either the one directly above the orange pinwheel thing, or the one above that. Mine didn't actual have crinkle washers on them but I got some from @astyy and fitted them when I did the rebuild just to make super-sure that they don't work loose.

Quite possibly. I haven't actually bothered going and having a look . After all its only @cooldan ;)

Quite often the back plate has had its threads stripped or widened from having any old screws shoved in them. I would suggest going with any that fit and hold the boards in tight. If they're loose you'll get poor grounding which can cause problems like hum and buzzing from the speakers.

Just make sure you replace them all so they match, and everything looks neat! :)
