Morning all,

Seasons greeting and all that... hope everyone where possible is getting ready to have a nice break over Xmas (last day at work today until 3rd of Jan and am looking forward to trying to put some high scores up on Alien over the break:)

My wife and I went to see the new Avatar film at the weekend (found it to be a bit of a slog from around the half way mark - I think Cameron will be scraping the bottom of the barrel if he's determined to do 5 films, but I digress....) and it got me thinking; James Cameron probably has the most pins based on movies he directed? -looks like I was wrong and it's a tie between Spielberg & Lucas?

Thought it'd be fun to put together a bit of a list and see if I'm missing anything? (not including Zen Pinball tables)

Cameron (4?):

Terminator 2
Last Action Hero
Avatar
Aliens (yes, I know the pin is called Alien and is also based on 'Scott's original film....;-)
(Not including T3:ROTM as J.C didn't direct)

George Lucas (5?)

Star Wars (Sonic - didn't know about this one before)
Star Wars (Data East)
Star Wars Trilogy (Sega)
Star Wars (Stern)
SW: E1

Spielberg (5?): (as a side note, I'd say I'm a bit of a Spielberg fan and have be trying for years to get a mate of mine to see JAWS for the first time!..)

Edit: Close Encounters (as per Pete's comment)
Indiana Jones - Williams
IJ: Stern
Jurassic Park
JP: Lost World
JP: Stern (can this be included?' I think no, as not really based on a movie)
JAWS? (rumoured)
Schindler's List (rumoured for 2024 release...)

Haven't included any Marvel tables, as I believe only Iron-Man, Spider-Man and the 1st Avengers pins are directly based on the movies.

I won't bother mentioning Directors who've only had one or two pins (Burton, Nolan, Raimi, Abrams etc, etc)

Add Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind to the Spielberg list
Add The Empire Strikes Back to the Lucas list
World Defender (terminator knock off) for Cameron
Good call on CE pete! - cheers
I've added CE for Spielberg, but not the other two, as only including films they are actually directed.

Honourable mention - Roland Emmerich
Godzilla
Independence Day
Stargate

I saw Avatar 2 too, really enjoyed it I don't have many complaints about it's pacing the 3hr 15m seemed to whizz by for me. The detail in the animated scenes are jaw dropping. First time using my 3 mobile discount so at £5.20 for a 3D showing defo feels like I got my monies worth .

Good shout - forgot about Stargate!

Re; Avatar 2, I think the thing that threw me off, was about a 3rd in to the film there was a false alarm evacuation from the cinema for a few minutes and when we came back they forgot to switch the light off for about half an hour. Regardless of that though, just for my taste the 2nd half was way too repetitive self indulgent on Cameron's part. Do appreciate all the work which went in to it though and I always love the Mechs and military stuff which Cameron comes up with, so I did enjoy some parts.

I'll update the master list above after a few days or something - thanks for everyone's input:-)

Someone worked out that Harrison Ford was the celebrity featured most on a pinball with an honourable mention to Pinbot
nice one Steve!; that was something else I was wondering. It kind of sucks these days that many licensed pins lack callouts from or the likeness' of the actual cast due to the cost etc

I don’t think Star Wars can be counted multiple times, as it’s the same theme several times (apart from Episode I).

I think Cameron has to take it.

Terrence Young;
Dr. No
From Russia With Love
Thunderball

OK, so only 1 pin

Without changing the thread - I wonder how many actors have appeared on multiple pinball IP’s and not just reboots / sequels. Gary Oldman springs to mind- BTDK, BSD and LIS.
Tim Curry?
The Shadow, Congo

Ian Mckellen has been in a lot too, not sure exactly, But LOTR, Last Action Hero, Xmen?

Deffo Harrison
5 star wars pins ESB sonic data east trilogy stern
2 Indy J total of 7

Honourable mentions

Antony daniels as c3po in all 6 star wars pins

Bill paxman . Custom pin plus alien and twister . Weird science would make a great pin (cross strange science with genesis)

And of course
Santa . Taxi and Elvira House of horrors

For celebrities pro active in the game then elvira must win with 3. Best custom voice work on a game must be James Doohan for data east star trek
Agreed! I also rate Hetfield's callouts on Metallica as some of the best; i geel he really put the effort in (less so maybe for thr other band members)
