Other forums use other software, and have completely different settings. Unless I know a little more about what you are trying to upload then I cant fix it!!

Try uploading a smaller file and see if that helps. Were you on a Mac or PC. I'd say, make sure you've not got another window popped up underneath your browser window. Or a popup blocker running stopping the upload.

Yeah too big. Open up the photo on your phone and snapshot it. It will be a smaller size.

2.4Mb is tiny. I'd be more worried if it was 24Mb, however that should still work....

Which phone type (Ios/Android) and Browser please??
