Just wondering if any of you hardened WCS94 players use the Magna Save feature much ??

Seems to me a bit pointless - the position is slightly too far up the lane to reliably pull back balls going SDTM, and the button just seems slightly too far from the flipper button meaning half the time I just slap around the cab side trying to hit the bloody thing meanwhile the moment has passed

I guess you can use it to halt the ball for a shot form left flipper but tbh thats no real biggie is it ?? Maybe I'm missing a trick somewhere.

Yeah you seem to need lightning quick reactions to use it successfully. I forget it's there most of the time, and when I do remember to use it its usually too late.

But then I'm rubbish at nudging too.

I generally only used to find it was good for those slow moving balls that you can see are going SDTM from a mile away. When the balls moving slowly the magnet is able to drag it back from the middle easier. You can also combine it with a big slap save on the left flipper to bring it in a bit more when the ball is moving faster :D

Never use it generally because I forget it is there!

It seems a bit like Grand Lizard to me where the magna save is meant to be used to sort of "nudge" the ball away from certain death except it is near the centre drain rather than the outlanes.

Useful for stopping the ball from rolling over the end of flipper when the flipper is up or in deflecting the ball. I find that the magna button is too far away from the flipper button to make proper use of it... plus on most tournament set machines I think you only get the one use per game (I think that is configurable).

Non-tournament you get as many uses as you like, you have to reset the magnasave by first lighting and then hitting a target on the lower right.

But just like everyone else I tend to forget it's there until it's too late

Interesting and quite current question. I too have never had much luck using it, but to be honest don't have much experience playing it. The final of the UK Open was on WCS this year. On his final ball Paul Jongma actually drained using the magna save. He tried to trap the ball on the left flipper, but was travelling to fast, so instead of tip passing over, pressed the magna save button, the ball magnetised but didn't fully stop and flicked up a bit and straight down the middle, very similar to how it happens sometimes on TOM when instead of going in the inlane it goes to the outlane. It didn't change anything as he still won!

During multiball when the balls are out of control I've starting hitting the magnosave in the hope of getting one back on to the flipper.
