Wanted VHS to DVD player

Evening all.

My mother in law has asked me if I can transfer her and her husbands (who has sadly past away some time ago) home VHS tapes to DVD.

I purchased an inexpensive USB converter off eBay that doesn't do the job. Tried on different PC's with Windows 10 and xp and it's all just jittery and unable to get it to work even with changing multiple settings

Does anyone have, lend or sell a direct VHS to DVD player that's simple to work before I return to eBay to buy one?

Whenever I've done it I just connect my trusty old vhs up to my DVD recorder and transfer it to its hd then burn to disc. If you get stuck I can do it for u
