To Martin and committee,

As you know Gary Flower has been part of the Pinball world for far longer than anyone else on this forum. He holds the rights to UK Pinball Hall of Fame so you either:

  • Make an agreement with Gary to use the name UK Pinball Hall of Fame.
or
  • Start afresh with a new award called something that cannot be confused with UK Pinball Hall of Fame and do no refer to the UK Pinball Hall of Fame in any way.

Very simple decision for you guys but stop f**king around when you know what you are doing is causing a lot of grief to Gary who really doesn't need it.

Hopefully the committee will take one of the above options and put this to bed.

You cannot have your cake and eat it. Don't be clots.

David

Hello David,

I have been speaking with Gary and the rest of the committee about this subject. I hope that the situation can be resolved so that everyone is happy but won't comment any further until there is something concrete to announce.

All the best

Matt

Cheers Matt,

I trust all will see sense and be nice.

Hi All Seeing this post I am confused? How can anyone copyright a name of phrase? I remember many years ago, the Coke-a-Cola corporation tried to taske someone to Court because they used the words "it's the real thing" and the case was thrown out. Here is an extract from the UK copyright authorities...
Basic principles. Copyright does not protect individual names, titles or phrases. Such items may easily be duplicated by coincidence, and are therefore not considered unique or substantial enough to be awarded copyright protection in their own right.

I cant see what all the fuss is about??

He owns the Trademark according to his post in one of the other threads, rather than copyright. Two different things.
