Some years ago I was entrusted as the keeper of the UK Pinball Hall of Fame.

In 2019 I started a dialogue on this forum concerning its future.

That generated a wide range of disparate views. Not wishing to be contentious I decided to let sleeping dogs lie.

However, over the last few weeks the topic has gathered some momentum and enthusiasm for action.

Encouraged by this, I have garnered views from as wide a range as possible.

As a result, on Friday, in the manner of the British Honours system, there will be an announcement of this year’s inductees along with their citation.

This will be followed by their induction when a suitable opportunity arises.

The criteria will be the same as ever i.e. ‘To honour those that have contributed to the enjoyment of pinball in the UK’.

Going forward, there are still some practical details to be finalised so watch this space for updates.

Some of the previous inductees are:

* Martin Ayub
* Andy Netherwood
* Steve Ritchie
* Gary Flower
* Nick Bennett
* Dennis Nordman
* Gary Stern
* Mark Squires
* Jack Guarnieri
* Jay Stafford
* Will Barber
* Mark Ritchie
* Steve Kordek

* Matt Vince

I think there are many who deserve it, and there is one person who I'd be sooo happy to receive this as he has done so much to support charities and pinball generally in recent years.

Glad you have revived this Gary, its great timing!

Is @Paul In the HoF ?

Pinballinfo is at the absolute heart of UK pinball. It is not big money/ big tech/ internet baron controlled.

There is no way that I could have built up my collection, let alone managed to maintain it, without this brilliant site.

Very true, a HUGE contribution!

Pinballinfo is the front page of the internet!

Why is Phil Palmer not on here?

If it was not for him the hobby would be a hell of a lot smaller than what it is!

Shouldnt you actually BE in the UK to be inducted, Why should Gary Stern etc get a place?

Martin who does the transport..... most use him......

Paul from here.

Kirk at Tilt.

Steve Pagget from Fife St.

Andy Foster - top UK player who plays in Europe and USA.

Andrew Heighwas as much as it pains me to say it - the only person who has built a production pinball in the UK. Okay we can all add a few more lines to this..... I just want to see his acceptance speech.

Marc Silk - voiced Funhouse 2 and Stern TMNT.

Andy H was in , was he then removed for obvious reasons ? I can’t remember

It’s all a lot of nonsense imo like most award thingys but crack on 😁

I'll copy and paste my own post:

Good on Gary for trying to resurrect it but we're missing that it was actually Nick Bennett who set it up along with Martin Ayub whilst Gary was the 3rd person on the committee. Funding for any plaques has previously come out of show funds as the awards we're at the show (and the organiser of the show was subsequently the 3rd committee member). Finally people who are in the hall of fame but are missing from the above list:

Dave Rolfe (sadly missed)
Phil Palmer
George Gomez
Barry Oursler
Jim Schelberg
Dave Willcox
Matt Vince
Josh Sharpe
Joe Balcer

With Also Andrew Heighway and John Trudeau removed from Gary's list above, no idea why, they're still in it

Yeah - I did that part of my post tongue in cheek about Heighway.

Plus Nick Bennet did a lot for Pinball too. Restarted the shows after many years. Fair play.

Perhaps all these names should be put on a poll and voted over a few days?

Or ask the mods on here to decide. Otherwise nobody will ageee.

I assume no physical plaques/awards will be made?
