in all the time since records began, ie over 10 years, the UK's no 1 has always been Martin Ayub.

Many have come close then dropped away, including Nick @mufcmufc and Stan @bartron and Greg @robotgreg and Peter @Moonraker and Matt @Matt Vince but finally someone has sneaked above him and claimed the top spot. Congratulations Craig aka @roadshow16 on your achievement, I never doubted you since I saw you win the Slam Showdown in 2012.

Well done Craig, well deserved.

PS. remind me never to join a game of AC/DC with Craig again.....Walked away after about 20 minutes of watching his ball 1

Well done, but,to be fair it is based on comps, and if you only go to a few the chances of you earning points greatly diminishes.
I have a good idea on who the best player is,if it just came down to it.

Congratulations to all the top players

.... and hey look at Andy Foster leaping up the leaderboard each year. I think there is going to be one hell of a battle next year ;)

Rankings are almost always calculated by a players attendance of tournaments, Tennis, Snooker etc. none of us would earn points sat at home playing our own machines! I go to as many events as i can, and i still cant earn diddly squat by way of points.
you must have commitment as well as a modicum talent to rise to to the top, Martin has proven over the years, The run of comps coming up before the New Year and Andy is down for a few of them it should make for an interesting couple months in the rankings,

Well done Craig, a great achievement

For me I like the info about player vs player the data throws up. The top players consistently thrash me. I think I've beaten Martin once. Makes it more special:) (annoyingly Mr Bradford also manages to beat me most of the time when he turns up)

The same names are always at the top and deserve to be so. Lucas is the wild card in the pack as although he's always in the UK contests I'm assuming he appears in the Polish stats.

Anyway congratulations to Craig

Many thanks guys, it's much appreciated.

As David rightly pointed out, the results for the Classics at the DPO have not yet been submitted, so Martin will pass me again once those results go in. It is nice to have my name up there though, however short and sweet the period may be :)

But play is neck to neck. Is going to be interesting in the next few UK tournaments leading up to xmas :) Both great players and fun to watch as always!

Yeah, it looks like Martin stands to gain another 15ish points when / if (!) the classic results go in. I say if (!) as they have lost them in the past so there was no submissions for that year.

Congratulations Craig, you've been a man on a mission this year especially after I dislodged you from 2nd place for a few weeks.

Well done Craig, however long it lasts for! In fact well done everyone in the UK, it's good to have some top('ish) players! I'm still waiting for one of you to break top 10 though ;-)

IMHO, the WPPR system does reflect top players rating, with the limited number of events that are used to provide the ranking, and the points awarded in a tournament dependent on the quality of players playing in it. To achieve that on a global scale is quite an achievement.

Simply put, the ranking system makes it interesting for us all as we now have some genuine top performers all at in the UK at similar level.

I don't get to many ranking events these days and I rarely do any good when I do (I was 72nd at the DPO last weekend). But one day the Gods were on my side, I won a Classics (side) event on Centaur via a 4-player final, but best of all I beat my mate Robi, who at the time was number #3 in the world. I don't recall ever beating him before or after that and if you've ever played against a world top 10 player, you'll know why. That really is one of the best things about IFPA pinball tournaments, or pinball in general, they're open and it's quite easy to get a game against a real top level player, where you can learn so much. You can't do that in F1 or Footy.

No-one can ever take this result away from me!

Congrats on reaching the top, but reckon Andy will soon be snapping at your heels. ;)

I'll be up there in my dreams...... :D

@D-Type cheers Phil, indeed one of my top all time head to head wins was against Robert. He put up 130 million on a very Tilty Monster Bash at the DPM. Going in to my last ball I was on 3 million, managed to make it to Monster Bash and passed him with about 140 million, He's beaten me pretty much every other time we have played, awesome bloke and player.

@JMP @lukewells Andy is in my opinion, one of, if not the best player in the UK. His skills are insane. It's great to see him making a few more events on the UKCS, I always love any potential chance of playing him.

After sending Martin Ayub an email about the DPO classic points not showing they have been instated which should have been last week. The correct status are now shown. I am looking forward to the battle between Martin and Craig in the upcoming months to see who holds the crown :)
