Wanted TRON bling

notice not TRON pin as I now have one! See today I received thread

Bad news is it needs electronic repair so is in Courtney's safe hands but wont be ready in time for NLP

it will not be hidden away under a dustsheet so hope to have it ready for the next show , maybe a mini Revival meet in December

I will be contacting folks about LEDs but am also looking for advice to source hopefully UK or Europe :

1. wire ramp light mods
2. video game mode
3. a blue dot matrix. shame I missed the one recently
4. speaker upgrade kit
5. side armour- this cab has no button wear so nice to keep it that way , and although half moons are good , would prefer side armour
6. the music upgrade I've heard such good things about
7. anything else TRON owners think l should get lol
 
3. Colordmd is great for Tron.
7. Recommend the following

Pinbit's playfield protector kit, the orange fluorescent one
Metal Tron bumper tops.... hookedonpinball.com
Must get ramp protectors as prone to damage
 
7. Shaker motor, Flynn's sign, Tron recognizer bank decal, speaker lights and Laserific topper !!

Just an FYI Steve this is all about personal taste, the first thing I did was replace the music 'upgrade' that puts the movie sound track in as I thought it sounded terrible, and some of the music loops were not very well done. The original soundtrack is killer I think.

Hallmark Keepsake Light Cycles (if you can find them) to replace the standard crappy ones, the upgraded pop caps that have 'TRON' written on them and come in blue/yellow/orange. The flourecent plastic protector set also looks killer. BLACK mirror blades, really subtle but look great. You can see the difference:

mod overload LOL. will be fitting girls translite as prefer it. do folks recommend LEDs for everything ? bumper caps look good. who would you recommend for the ramp lights?

If you don't put LEDs in Tron it is a personal affont the machine ;)

Seriously though of all the games that have come out in recent years this one looks so WRONG with standard GI lighting, doesn't suit it at all. It's Tron for Gods sake, if you don't think coloured LED lighting looks good in this game you better be ready to hand in your pinball club card haha.

Sorry I'm gonna have to give a massive thumbs down on this, put one in last week - its now coming out for a black one.

Absolutely terrifying, shoots balls out like a cannon at warp factor 10. Balls constantly cracking against the glass, getting lodged under sling plastics, knocking LED's out due to the sheer force it is slinging the balls out at.

NOT recommended (yes have tried waxing it and wearing down the rubber on top to lose some of the grip, has not helped at all.)

I'm also not keen on this clear disc. I value my balls, and that thing threatens to send a ball or 4 through the coin door.

Those were my thoughts when I first installed it, scary ball speed, balls getting under slingshots, bouncing all over the place but it does calm down a lot after a few games.
 
Totally disagree, I love a fast game, faster the better I say :thumbs:

No damage done to mine at all since I put it in, so no regrets at all. Occasionally gets stuck under a rubber but not something to lose sleep over.

I played around 20 with it in, the final straw was when it threw a ball upwards into the glass, even though the disc is flush to the playfield. Just can't risk it with it not being my machine.
 
Trust me you can hit that glass with a sledgehammer it won't break (unless the original has been replaced with plated glass).
