Translate Illumination - the best LED's ???

Hi

My recent TOTAN purchase has led's in the light box for the translate..
The led's create big hot spots on the translate as you will see in the picture.

Can anyone suggest the best LED for this application ? is there maybe an LED the only emits light sideways to avoid the hotspots and give an even wash of light ??

You need a warm white frosted mate. That's what I have and you'd never know

Try painting / permanent marker the top of each bulb.
I hate the effects from LED's in the back box. @stoptap did a LED conversion for the back box that looked like it worked a lot better, I'm sure he will chip in with a link.

It depends if they're cool or warm. I suspect they are cool

This is what I made Daz. Would be easy to do one on a Bally/Williams as they already have a lightboard.

so MMR comes with a plastic diffuser to stop that happening, sounds like thats what needed, perhaps try putting some semi clear plastic between the bulbs and translite?

There is an LED board in my Spiderman too.



And if you really wanted to you could do this.
