Any suggestions as to what you would class as a deep Bally-Wms pin, TZ and STTNG spring to mind.

What would be your top 10?

I suppose games with longevity would be a different way of putting it.

Tspp easily

Isn't that a Stern

I cheated and listed 13, some games are boring to get to wizard mode but have great wizard modes (see Spiderman). Some are deep just for the fact you have to make the same boring shot over and over. Technically, the deepest is NBA but the most enjoyable is probably CV, closely followed by MM / AFM as you have to make a lot of different shots. I once had a TZ where you could flip the ball up the inlane and regularly make the scoop  so it was fairly straight forward to make LITZ

1. NBA FB - yup really as you have to go through 4 times to reach the wizard mode

2. CV - 4 part wizard mode too

3. MM - A little too much to do in some ways to get to wizard mode but a good wizard mode

3. AFM - just the right level of different things to have to achieve to get to wizard mode

5. I500 - 4 ways to get to wizard mode, none are easy

6. IJ - hold the ball on the flipper, mode start - rinse repeat

7. Shadow - not that hard to get to wizard mode, completing it is a different case

- the next few aren't really deep as such just a case of ramp, scoop then rinse repeat to get to wizard mode

8. RS - fun getting to the coast

9. TZ - only a little more difficult than TAF to get to the end

10. TAF - if you can nail the ramp and the chair shot, this can become easy quickly

Honourable mentions

SS - Only for Spider Multiball

ST: TNG - 3 mode starts given off the start shot so only 5 needed to get to "wizard" mode

JD - Difficult if done the mode way, but can be reached with just 4 multiball jackpots

I think need to define 'deep' really ....is it just how hard/easy/simple/complicated it is to get to the Wizard mode ?....or does 'deep' take into account all the rules of the game ? ...regardless of whether they are heading you towards to the Wiz mode.

If its the latter then hands down TZ

Rescuing Olive in Popeye is one of the great Wiz modes of the 90s. But no one knows that except me

Except for the designers, you are probably the only other human to have had the experience:D

Nice post, certainly gives the less experienced amongst us an insight into what's out there and the legs some of these titles have, there are games on there which some of us will never play and some surprises also which may be overlooked. Got my BOP recently, stunning, superb, love playing it but extremely limited, that would probably be at the opposite end of the scale.

Agreed unfortunately

...I love everything about Bride of Pinbot ...apart from the rules. The look, the sounds, the whole Pinbot vibe ..spot on. But then it dawns on you all you are doing is hitting the ramp repeatedly.

Much prefer to play original Pinbot - now getting to the Sun on that is not an easy task

As for "wizard" modes, they're definitely not the be all and end all. There are definitely different ways to approach games: play for points, wizard mode or something else entirely. On TAF, I almost always want to play to start the 2nd multiball to get the quote "It has to warm up, SO IT CAN KILL YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" as well as my favourite quote on any game "TRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPLE JACK..POT"

BoP has the potential to be ace but, shoot the left ramp, shoot the left ramp, shoot the left ramp and after that shoot the left ramp - does become a little tiresome!

Out of the games I listed above, if they were all in a room and you gave me all night, it's likely I would play only the MM and TAF. MM because it's my favourite game and I'm not bothered about wizard mode or anything else, it just makes me grin when I play it. TAF because to me, it never gets old and there are a good number of differing things to do on it.

I know RBION is a Stern but that is a mare for wizard mode as ya need to complete all modes getting all the letters.Mr Ayub was close one time-shame they couldn't have varied the shots a bit more.

Would love to RTU and do BFTK:confused:

Super Hero is a 4 part mode (spoilers below) all from memory so may not be spot on

Part one - knock out the lit spider lights (4 ball multiball) it's fairly easy but the balls get in the way

Part two - hit each villain at least twice, you have complete all four before moving onto the 2nd hit. This can be up to 3 times, depending on how many balls you lose in part one

Part three - turn the spiders red. They all start out white and you have to turn them red (you do get served another ball if you lost any of the four plus a ball save), this looks easy in theory until you find out they turn back if you make the shot again!

Part four - Doc Ock & Sandman, hit them 5 times each until Dock Ock goes out, then continue hitting Sandman a further 20 times, he stays lit and it isn't easy to notice that once you have hit him enough, the Spider Sense lane will light - make the shot and you get the 150m Super Hero score for completing it.
