Tom a beautiful m/c has developed an annoying trunk fault.Sometimes when a ball enters the trunk the m/c does not know a ball is in the trunk so I have to switch m/c off and start again I checked the eddie sensor boards and found red lights on 2 boards and adjusted these so the leds were out.Problem solved only for a few games then the ball stuck in the trunk again.I then checked the eddoe sensor boards again and the leds were out. Also on accasions the trunk sticks in a wrong position ie half way round,To me this seems like the trunk opto board needs changing.Any any ideas whats wrong only happened since I put on the unbreakable trunk from germany Yours billy butler.

Unfor tunately I scrapped the old trunk as it was in such a state.Perhaps the new unbreakable trunk is made of a material that blocks opto signals and a solution could be to remove the trunk and paint the inside with a good qualiyy undercoat.Daft or whatAny body got any idea about what to do nextYOURS WB

The trunk cover is nowhere near the optos, I can't see how it would affect anything except not being mounted properly and getting stuck.

Make sure the opto interrupter is secure and do a trunk test to see if the optos are registering correctly.

The trunk knows a ball has entered due to a rollover switch on the subway below (switch 47 in the matrix) Check that's working properly.

Its been a looong time since i owned a TOM but i remember a trunk fault like yours that drove me mad , Try this Put it into multi ball and listen to see if you get the Crescendo Music (it sounds when the dot matrix shows the girl hurling the ball at the trunk) if there is no music it will be the eddy sensor set to fine in front of the trunk ,mine was picking up the corner of the metal trunk holder when it passed to close to the sensor. The mass of metal was passing to near the eddy sensor plate ( especially the corner of the trunk holder)and this turned off the crescendo sound because the machine thinks another ball is coming .It would also cause the fault you are describing.Just turn that eddy sensor down (or if that does not work replace the board )

may work
cheers
Keith

The trunk opto interruptor is underthe playfield and is held on to the trunk shaft with a grub screw, this can work loose.

The adjustment pots on the eddy board can deteriorate, Pinball heaven supply replacements.

Checked 47 switch and tested ok trunk test ran ok so I tweaked thje 47 switch arm and this seemed to correct the fault.Cheers for helpfull input.Billy.A ny know where I can get trunk automatic adjusting eddy sensor board ?

[inball center germany list them @83.95 euros but out of stock. They also list anadvanced eddy microcontroller @29.50 euros but in stock .What are these for ?YOURS BILLY.
