In the vein of the “Today I received” thread and the “Today I worked on” thread:

Today I travelled 4.5 hours, 265 miles to pick up a new pin (can’t say just yet).

Too old to do it there and back in a day so Im sampling the delights of the south coast tonight, home to Leeds tomorrow.

Let’s see what the longest / craziest trips for the worst / best pins are.

Well, I went from West Wales to Norwich to pick up a TAF, left early hours. An hour into the journey on the M4 the exhaust fell off my van, had the stereo up loud and only noticed because there was sparks flying out the back of the van
Had to virtually drive back home, wait for kwik fit to sort it out and carry onto Norwich.
Got back early hours, didn’t get to meet @Spandangler as he had to go to work as I was well late so he got Rupert the bear to meet me
That was my longest day but there have been others but not so ’exciting’

I did a 10 hour round trip up North for a Ghostbusters. 2 weeks later thought it was a massive POS and sold it

Did a day trip with a mate to Appledorn with a stop off at Utrecht in Holland. Think it was a 23hr round trip. Picked up a STTNG, DESW and a Stargate along with a Tron Arcade cab for someone.
Took it in turns driving but was absolutely shattered when I got back

ha ha. and i thought i was being a bit mad yesterday. got home today 540 mile round trip for a pos.

Today i went zero miles from the buidling but took in 2 deliveries and another on a pallet from Holland. My days of weekly killer road trips are done lol

Example from 1996. Leave home in Walsall 5am. Arrive southend 10am load up 6 nib scared stiff. Go to phil in southport . Drop 4 off. Deliver and set up one in liverpool . Enjoy usual m6 traffic shenanigans. Drop off one in Cheltenham about 10pm. Break down on m5 about 11pm. Towed home to Walsall by 1am. Go to day job 9am in the morning.
