Personally I think that chart is flawed as 25% of the rating is based on artwork.

Doesn't seem fair that some excellent games with naff artwork will never be rated highly.

More weighting on gameplay would be better IMO, but that's just my preference.

This argument will always get subjective and someone will defend their favourite machine like their honour. There are so many factors we could rate a machine on and use this to defend our position but we can all agree
I also agree that whilst artwork and sound are important, they shouldn't rate as highly as game play.
Should a machine be rated on short term first encounters or longer term home use experience? That is a tricky one and goes back to the argument about what is the natural habit for a wild pin and is it us home domesticated pin keepers who are bad?

I do agree that Luke is a stinky pants.

At the end of the day it's a personal thing, that feeling a particular machine brings, AFM may tick all the boxes but does not hit the spot for me personally, TOM on the other hand strikes a chord, that's just the way it is.

Putting my personal feelings for the machine aside ......;)....... I do find it odd that a game with such a disappointing Wizard Mode, which even lovers of the game will find hard to argue with, can seriously be rated as #2. IMO the other games in the Top 10 , love them or hate them, are all pretty solidly executed. Theatre isn't.

I prefer Pinside's chart. Users can alter the weighting of their ratings depending on which factors they prefer in machines in general. Mine is biased towards gameplay and sound and away from cabinet art.

Bogus ratings can also be flagged by other users - there's always the extremists who will rate a machine 0 or 10 in all areas messing up the ratings.

With no ball save and that gap between the flippers....!? How many times you completed Vacation Jackpot then?
3 times on consecutive games. 3 balls, no extra's . I was 2 years looking for a nice one. sold it 3 months later to Mr Dreads.
but then again, I have qualified and played in the World Championships. :p

My views are.

With a bit of work the rankings can be whatever you choose them to be.
The rankings tend to be based on reputation rather than reality.
Herd mentality kicks in producing the above reputation.
The yanks prefer bling above all else.

Heh, modest too ! So in the category of 'too easy' you mean to you... but maybe not the average Joe. Suppose there's a load of others that are 'too easy' then also.....

Don't reckon WW is 'that' easy compared to some and a good all round game tbh for the cost.

Anyway, get back to slagging off Theatre and the usual deja vu... :D

I've only rated one game on there, which was Dracula. Kept getting warned about keep choosing 10!

Wow the cabinet has been faded within an inch of it's life....
but then again we don't play the cabinet do we?!
