As announced by Stern yesterday on Facebook (sorry if this is news on here already but I couldn't find any mention of it):

The Walking Dead pinball update:

Two new updates to share with you today.

1) After much demand The Walking Dead fish tank topper will be back in stock in the Stern Shop online 6/15!

2) The much needed and anticipated code update for all The Walking Dead models is being worked on now and we will notify you all as soon as we have a target release date.

Happy Walker Hunting!
So it seems Stern may have been listening to either general chit-chat or user feedback, or maybe Gary saw Lyman Sheats's comments on the matter...

About time....I will be interested to hear feedback from owners when the code is released.

Just been play the ass off one in the USA (they had a TWD and Avengers in the gameroom of the hotel). TWD was ok, however that barn shot really is a drain hog, and I was surprised how good avengers was.

Still played better on TWD :D

Just seen - walker bombs! Yeah. Finally a reason to have bought the more expensive version rather than the pro:)

Going to download and install it this morning.

Stuck a shaker motor into the game yesterday, so between that and the new code it should be like having a new game

Just read the changes to the code, wow that's a huge update. I still think everyone would be WAY happier with smaller more frequent updates than waiting 7 months for a huge update, and Stern wouldn't attract any of the flack they get for lack of updates. Wonder why they choose to do it this way and annoy all their customers rather than smaller updates more often?

I think they've rushed it through due to the amount of stick they're getting on pinside. Competition is getting fierce so they've got to up their game to stay ahead.

code now installed. Falling body parts on the bonus screen:clap:

Seems to also have the Green lights working

Only played a few games so far but happy they've worked on it:thumbs:

Competition is getting fierce so they've got to up their game to stay ahead.

There is no competition - JPop finished, Skit B finished, Quetzal, Homepin, Heighway, Dutch yet to produce anything, JJP Nothing new for over 2 years! Who is there to compete with?? The remakes, that Stern themselves are producing?

I do think they're upping their game in some respects but only to try and get the few pinball £ that are left unspent right now, if they were competing, they would have put out a full LCD product a long time ago. I think most people are being uber cautious about any purchase other than Stern. The only game I've really been disappointed in that I've owned for lack of code is WoF as that had potential to be great, poor code is another matter :p

It's great that they're getting the code done - as long as they keep up with a track record of finishing games/getting them playable to a good level of the promised features then that's fine by me even if it takes a year, but the game does need to have a semblance of what it finishes up as, in the initial code. Star Trek and X Men were awful in early code, WWE seemed similar (not put enough time on one) and I could never get past the crapiness when the code updates did come, most of the other recent games have been added to rather than drastically changed, so they seem to have grown more organically and thus sensibly.

Had a few games last night on my borrowed updated pro, seems much more fleshed out, more sounds, more animations. I don't think I saw it in the change log but does anyone think they tweaked the prison magnet settings so it doesn't drop the ball SDTM so much anymore?

If anyone manages to install the custom speech pack onto this new code let me know, seems complicated as hell matching up the sounds positions manually within Pinball Browser.... Hoping the creator of the original on pinside provides an updated file.

After more play the prison magnet is definitely more friendly now, it doesnt just turn off and drop the ball, it pulses to fire the ball in a random direction.

The tilt danger warning sound is awesome :).

What's the tilt warning noise. Mine sounded like a high pitched beep. Has it been corrupted on download or is it meant to be like that?
