Well today was the day that I managed to get hold of another shadow after regretting selling my last one twice

Still cant help but think that had it not have been based on a film and been a non licence it would have been up there with Eddy's others AFM and MM.

Pure pinball greatness and although there are several side bets running this one is going no where

Me and the Grizz played the **** out of it today and it bought back some very fond memories.

Other opinions on the mighty shadow

Congrats on the new purchase

I've not played a huge amount of Shadow but the few games I've had on it I loved. There's something about the Battlefield that I find very addictive. I definitely want to own one someday.

I chuffing love it!!!

I've played mine to death since I got it and still keep going back for more - must be a glutton for punishment.

Awesome flow, fast game, love the shadow loop and the ball lock gives you time to collect your thoughts before you're off again. The final battle is incredible too - I can't get enough of this machine.

I realise the game polarises opinion somewhat but I genuinely believe it's one of the best there is.

Okay, love in over, back to the footie.

Yep, She's a nice one Will. Pretty nice condition and she plays well, me and Nic had a few games before she got sent down to you.

Have fun, and let's see how long this one lasts. Started the stopwatch.

I think the Shadow is under rated, mainly because of the back glass! There is so much going on and so many different shots, it really is right up there with the usual classics. Some might not like the theme, but if you don't take it too seriously, it is ok! The sun is shining...........

Trust me to break the +ve flow, OK...........probably spent about 2 hours with mine as it's at a different location but so far I don't get it, game seems vague  , nice ball lock, battlefield is tricky........mmm.........can't think of anything else to say, maybe you have to invest some quality time with it to bond but so far it's a bo bo for me, (I even like my TZ more than this) apart from the JD (which is next outta' the door) I think the Shadow is right at the bottom of my current line up

.

Maybe one day I will get it but there again maybe I won't, I have spent less time with other titles and liked them more, this does not mean that my view won't change but you can only base your opinion on your own personal experience.

It's not really a modder either so I may part company with it at some point.

I know a lot of you have been waiting for me to chip in on this thread...

I agree with Dreads on this one.
biggrin-1.png

All I'm gonna say - Is Will going to keep hold of this Shadow any longer than I kept mine (7 weeks).

Will - are The Slam dates 14/15 April set in stone? Need to think about booking accomodation for the Friday & Saturday.

Hi Will, good day to you sir, I appreciate that deeper games need a longer honeymoon which is probably the case with this one, with regards to mods I do have a couple, one being a topper but the modding statement was directed at perspective sales rather than feasibility. For me to invest the time in making a mod available I have to be able to source the parts in large enough quantities to make it viable (impossible on the topper and the other mod), there also needs to be a demand for mods on that particular title, this machine does not scream mod me on a commercial level thus far.

Yep - give it a chance Andy and hopefully it will click with you.

I think its a fantastic playfield layout - even with the lack of pop bumpers ( I like pops). I would maybe argue about it being that deep, the rules are decent enough but its not actually that difficult to achieve everything necessary for The Final Battle wizard mode. There aren't that many modes and I don't really find there are that many strategies to employ concerning scoring/order of doing things etc - which is generally what I consider makes a 'deep' game. That said it's a great all round package, love the music, great lights and effects, super fast at times, clever multiball rules.

The Shadow knows

Paul I'll answer for Will as I know he's working/hungover this morning and may not look on here.

OK.....I usually bond with shallow games right from the off, had a failure to launch on this one:D

I've had mine for about a month now. The jury is still out for me. I am enjoying it but I'm not sure it will end up a keeper. It is gloriously fast though. And I love the light show. I think I just need to get a bit better at it. Then i'll probably enjoy it more.
