After three consecutive adverts being pulled, I am a little annoyed and I have pulled my subscription.

One admin warned my for my pricing humour ie rupees after stupidity, the other cited forum principles whilst making quite unfounded accusations of illiciting offers.

Meanwhile, pro restorers have suggested my pin "cpu needs a hack", whilst I can assure you that Stern will perform a simple conversion if you send the cpu off. Quite off putting to hear well regarded restorers stating such things and it scares the lesser knowledgeable.

Then we have shop owners spouting garbage as to the value as they compare apples and oranges.

And fwiw, heres the typical mathematics for the benefit of anybody believing the trolls or thinking of importing (vary game costs accordingly):-

Game Cost £13,000
+ ISPM15 Crating Cost £500
+ Shipping Cost £600

Total = £14,100
VAT on all above = £2,820
Then conversion cost ~£300

Total Total £17,220

As Jim Royal might say, profiteering my ****!

As a paid subscriber, I do not need to illicit anything, I can post adverts without illiciting PM's on the "how much is this table worth" thread, the thread known to illicit PM's.

And so I ask you all to ask yourselves, where is this forum going if your going to gang up on fellow enthusiasts. Because if you re-read the threads, there has been some unnessessary comments in relation to what was not any form of illicit money grab.
Nor would I have accepted £225,000 or anywhere close.

I guess we just don’t appreciate being used as cash cows. I know it’s the wrong term, I mean as suckers basically.

Go spoil another hobby by profiteering off them instead perhaps?

We. Don’t. Want. It. Thank you.

This site has been around for a long time, they have rules, and they are there for a reason.
I dare say that most moderators/admins would prefer not to have a wanted to buy/for sale section. It tends to be more headaches than any other section.

If you want an auction, there are auction houses or e-bay.
If you do not want to follow the rules, there are many other online places to do it

I pride this forum on being as open as we can. It's only when people screw about, or abuse others that I have an issue. Not saying that you have done the second, however most definately the first applies.

The sales section Is something which is a thorn in our side., It's a very good thing to have, and i would always like it to be there, however it is something that continually needs moderating. We cannot please everyone all of the time, however we try our best.

None of your adverts were particuarly clear - I did wonrder if any of them were genuine adverts... First one purposely circumventing the "ads must have a price" approach. The second leaving people wondering what on earth was going on. As i have said many times on here, this isnt Ebay, and as such we have put mechanisms in place to allow us to act as such (such as the pricing thread). I welcome genuine ads for genuine machines.

There are private ways to air grievances (the PM system works!), however of course lets go the "post for all to see" route.. as is this thread. I'm not aware of you reaching out to us to enquire WHAT the issue was, and in fact we did try to engage you but have had no response.

Since you say you have pulled your subscription i have done it for you.. Hope that helps.

As per the T&C's, please feel free to drop us a PM to discuss this any further, since continuing to throw your teddy out of the cot on here will get no-one anywhere.

From what I can see requiring a sales post to have a set price pushes people use the valuation thread to fish for offers, its not a rule I would have personally, but its not me spending my free time moderating this place and there must be reasons for it. This place is largely well run and its a rule that's been consistently applied to everyone.

Your not the only one to have been pulled up for it and while listing in Rupees or for £250k may well have been technically within the rules, it was bending them a bit.... honestly I don't think you can have too much complaint there.

But, as I said in the 3rd sale thread I do think suggestions one could be imported for substantially less were wrong, I honestly think people underestimate the costs of involved....

When I had a look at NIB pricing in the US and worked out shipping costs, it really didn't seem like it would be much cheaper to import vs buying your game, the figure I came up with was £17.7k not allowing for any unexpected costs. For someone in the market for a 60th it seemed like a reasonable deal, without the risk or hassle and wait of importing one yourself, not to mention 25% cheaper than official distributors, perhaps accusations of profiteering should be pointed in Electrocoin's direction?

I've got to say - a lot of people have used Dutch auctions if they're not sure of the price for a 'unique' item.

An alternative that I've found helpful is 'OBO' (Or Best Offer), which is the exact opposite to 'Firm. I know what I got here'.

I don't understand why people faff about with their for sale posts.
If it's forsale, put the price you want on it. If you want bids, put it on ebay. Why is this complicated?

I buy lots of pins. I am only interested when the seller puts up a clear post with the price they want.
When you post a bunch of nonsense, fishing for prices, you are reducing the number of people that are going to be interested in your sale 🤷‍♂️

Stern will not perform "a simple conversion". It negates the very thing it is designed to prevent. They WILL do it, for the price of a new board. We all, here, know this so trying to pretend that it won't cost is misrepresenting the facts. Get it working on UK mains, name a price and honestly describe with pics and you wouldn't have a problem.

Correct and stern will also look at the serial no and see what distributor sold you it and probably have words with them

Marcel you have made your self look an absolute clown over all this yet you still persist in perusing it
So here is what I think for you and other people thinking of listing
First list at a reasonable price if you are making a profit then no one will care that’s not £22500
No 2 if you say stern will perform a simple fix then just do it yourself you have a much bigger audience if you can just turn on and it plays
No 3 if you are not a distributor I don’t think being nib has any advantage as you are not getting any of the dealer perks like warranty or delivery in the cost
It would have been much better plug and play set up with less than 10 plays on it at £19000 which is what you wanted
Personally I don’t think this is anywhere near achievable in today’s market and you will probably be looking at a loss but I may be wrong
Another thing which I respect you for is if the figures you put up are correct then is it really worth importing one rather than going through a Uk dealer
You or ways get the occasional smart arce commenting on sales posts that’s just how it is but it’s n your instance it was pretty much every one just stating the obvious you should have just stepped back taking thing on board and re listed in a better manner but you chose to loose the plot and your second post just left people confused and then a third one which also got locked

No one’s blowing that sort of money on a machine that does not even work out the box. This game will not sell in the current state especially in this market.

Tried to stay out of this but I can't see you getting your £17200 back, maybe people outside of the forum?

I would list it at what it cost you and chalk it up to experience.

I would say anyone outside of this forum who had the money to buy isn't going to interested in dropping that sort of coin on something that they can't use without it being "fixed" first.

I think the OP is just going to have to accept that their gamble didn't pay off and that they should just set it up, get it working, enjoy it for a bit and then sell it on with the inevitable loss they are going to have to take.

Having played it, it’s a reasonably good, albeit quirky, pin and there are MUCH worse games you could be stuck with (Spinal Tap, cough).

I’d add it to the lineup, personally. Give it a good play and move on when bored :)
