We've all had those moments of utter frustration where the game teases you with a big reward and you just end up losing the ball. Case in point last night. 9:15, bored, recovered from a night out the day before where I had way too much to drink. Decided I haven't filmed a gameplay video on my Twilight Zone yet and late at night is the perfect opportunity and I need to get to LITZ for it to have any sort of watchability.

All door panels done, 1 ball left, both piano and slot machine lit - you know exactly what happens. I stuff up both shots, ball drains. I have 500 million points at this stage, extra ball is 686. I get 145 million bonus, game over - no LITZ for you, and the best thing? All on video...

Which will promptly be deleted, unless people have some morbid fascination with seeing someone fail at LITZ and then loudly exclaiming "I DON'T F***ING BELIEVE IT!" Maybe I could add it on at the outtakes haha.

I'm sure you all have similiar stories, thought it would be cool to share - as they say misery loves company ;)

Playing LOTR yesterday. Got to Destroy The Ring, got the four shots, locked the ball in the ring magnet, second ball out, fired it at the locked ball and it went with just enough force to rest against the other ball without triggering a successful hit. i shook the game, both balls release and promptly drained straight down the middle. If it hadn't been for the new ColorDMD I had fitted earlier I think the machine may now have been upside down.

I'm up for watching it. Never got near that score. Think around 350 million is my best..
LITZ isn't too difficult to achieve. Essentially ignore the modes and concentrate on the ramps to relight the slot machine and piano.

The key to a good score (for me) on TZ was Powerball Mania. HUGE points can be got if you keep that going for a while. I had a few 2 billion plus games just concentrating on Powerball Mania.

Playing at the Southern Pinball Festival in Orlando. All the top named players were there so I thought it would be a good chance to see just how good they really are. ;-)
Top score on MM was about 80mil. I was having a great game - constantly battering the castle. I was on 75mil, 4 castles defeated and the drawbridge down ready to defeat the last castle for 20mil, I also had 2 balls locked and the third lock lit. I even had the ball trapped on the right flipper ready to make my shot. At that moment I couldn't decide whether to take the quick 20mil or go for the multiball. Decided on the multiball, but midway through the shot changed my mind and went for the castle. Guaranteed, hit the standup in between the two followed by a SDTM. Was fuming, despite the fact that Bowen, who was taking the scores, congratulated me on such a good game.
What made it even worse was the fact that after the first evening of qualifying I was sat in 5th place overall, but as the next day had 14hrs of qualifying with people rebuying and rebuying constantly I slipped down to 25th (top 24 qualified for knockouts). Had I made the castle shot I would have easily qualified, as no-one managed to break 100mil on MM all weekend.

That last paragraph is the main bugbear for me with competitive pinball. The multiple entries. You should get one shot at a number of machines (say 8) and you are judged on your 5 best scores. That's it. No multiple entries.

I lined up triple jackpots with 5x playfield on Wh20 the other day and promptly drained all 3 balls without another jackpot

I'm dangerously close to vacation jackpot but it still alludes me.

Many times of getting Do Or Die setup on Iron Man and then draining after bricking the shot either to start it or even worse to collect it

Got 1 shot away from Vacation Jackpot on WH2O last week and then smashed the ball into the left hand lock target which rocketed it SDTM

The pain of missing the jackpot shot on Banzai Run after getting through all the various steps to even have a go at the shot in the first place :(

Banzai Run I've been told is especially painful as it so hard to set up, ouch!

One of PAPA's YouTube videos is of Beardy Mark attempting to get to Valinor in LOTR. it takes him an hour to get within I think one shot away, then .......
