I am sure that most of you will have seen the Woodtech saga unfolding on the yahoo group over the last couple of days,

Who the hell is this guy think he is ? Its one of the reasons I turned my back on the group and just browse every now and then. I would love him to dis one of my cabs, as mine are as what would have came off the production line and not fully painted inside. Up to now I have held it back from replying to anything the guy says to wind people up. Sorry but I can't hold back any more, this guy is just a rip off merchant, apart from saying he is superior to everyone and anyone that may do the same, he also sells other stuff on the bay at over inflated prices like; polished up side rails, lockdown bars, Back Box hinges and bloody polishing up bolt heads and selling for stupid money. Example buy side rails for £ 28 a pair give them a polish and knock them out for £120 . Maybe I am being a little unfair as I don't know how much work goes into the polishing process , Hang on a min, polishing wheel and some polish compound.

Its not just the work he puts in its also the stuff he just sticks a mega price on like a Monster Bash Manuel for £120 of two RFM flyers for £20.

All this can do for our hobby is to give it a bad name with knob jockeys like this touting for business. I would just love to know how the guy can sleep at night. In my book he is just one step above the scum that rip off old people, who say the have a few loose tiles on their roof and charge them £1000 for a £60 job.

I too have read the posts just, lately it's all money ,money grown men mud slinging like children,as like you I too just do it for the hobby and for the great friends I've met , as for the alleged rip off guy well if that's what he sells stuff for then so be it ,I like- you mr replicas dnt like it and try not to get involved , dnt let it get to you my Jedi friend if ppl are rich enough to buy his stuff then it's up to them, I've seen the work you put in to the cabs you do and it's superb !

I'm not into 'dissing' anyones work personally. What i disagree with is someone who doesnt even know me saying i cant do a better job. Utter snobbery imo.... As for the prices??? Meh. I wish him luck....

That said, i'm over it. T'is the season to be jolly after all...

Hi Daz, deep breaths bro (it's all just the game of life
wink-1.png
) , just a quick question, after some side rails for my MB resto, could you point me in the right direction at the above price which is cheaper than the ones on ebay, cheers Dreads

Manny bought them off Phil at PH, I think for a discount as he bought a few sets.

The guy is a nob and I just had to get it off my chest. Most people on the group are a great bunch who will always help out whenever they can. This guy is just using the group to premote his buisness and offer his overpriced services. The group does not need people like this jumped up nob touting for work at a crazy price, I just hope people have not been caught out by him and ask others on the group/forum to point them in the direction of others who do a great job at a fair price. There are a few guys who do a great redecal job spread all over the U.K. so if you are thinking of getting your cabinet redone please don't think that he is your only option. Ask on group/forum and some of the nicer people will point you to someone in your area.

Right will try and get back to the light and away from these people who are drawn to the dark side.

Hi Daz, cheers for the info, will give Phil a bell, to be honest I will happily do the cab resto and pf swap myself, I have restored so many motorcycle fairings and parts that a cab will be right up my street although I do have some good support locally if I can't make time. Good call on the light move, "the self is the greatest enemy of the self", best find the button and switch off the torment
wink-1.png

Got a mate from down south, a traveller and not someone to mess with, we used to sit and talk about the people who had wronged us in the past (amongst all other subject matter of course), I used to sit and listen to his tales of retaliation, some were brutal and some were funny as hell, here are some examples, he sneaked into the blokes garden and wrote the word C**T in big letters on the lawn with weed killer, needless to say this was a long term reminder to the perpetrator as it took weeks for it to grow back while all the neighbours sniggered, another one of his favourites was the jiffy bag through the letter box, I will leave it to your imagination as to the contents, anyway while I was sitting there listening to these stories watching his face getting more twisted and his body movements dynamic he would without warning snap straight out of the unfolding drama and utter these words “fluffy thoughts, fluffy thoughts†the guy was enlightened and could see that he was snared by life and by his own failure of mind control, in an instant he broke ties with the torment and laughed, he had moved on ……..fluffy thought everyone, fluffy thoughts

,

I am happy to say that I did not see this on the group - because I got sick of it unsubscribed a couple of weeks ago. I can fully endorse unsubscribing and not bothering to look at it. :-)

It's so easy to get lost in it all, I do the same and eventually I see my mate Dean utter those words which makes me snap out of it and smile

, in fact I probably jumped up and down more that most on that group, definitely in the last 12 months. I don't like seeing decent, reserved people being mangled by trashy comments, if it wasn't for the fact that I like to contribute (too much to say, that was always my problem:rolleyes: ) I would have bailed out also, I do think that the forum is the future and the group is surviving on borrowed time, take away, Daz, Ive, yourself and other key players on there and the colour starts to wash out.

Alas we should not worry........the future is bright........the future is Pinballinfo.com

evolve or perish

Jack is cooler than a polar bears nad sack, seen him when he was even younger in some old movie, he was the spit of Steve Stiffler, the Stiffmeister, long lost relation of the Dreadmeister
smile-1.png

Damn, I really miss the group with everyone polishing their shiny machines instead of playing them. Don't let it worry you Darren, I've got cabs stacking up for you to do, just wont be able to knock you for a discount now you know the real "market value" of your work
tongue-1.png

Ah, the Stiffmeister, that brings back memories:D

Playing is the name of the game;)

My excuse for a bit of polish is to keep the wife happy as the pins are in the house.......doesn't work though as then get told spending too much time fiddling around with them

See how we've moved from the dark side to American Pie, if that is not a shift into the light, I don't know what is

Your right - there's nothing to see here..... There I was, expecting to see some superb mud slinging - and frankly, I'm very disappointed.

Perhaps someone can re-light the fire? I have plenty of petrol around. I tend to find it's useful when working on Bally Williams games.

Lol - havent deleted anything - as far as i can see there's nothing to be deleted other than a load of people's opinions....
biggrin-1.png
Which was why i said "nothing to see here" - expecting a mad influx of people trying to find it
biggrin-1.png

I made a special trip over from the Yahoo forum too
sad-1.png

Things are however "hotting up" in the Northern lights thread!

I think the yahoo board is on it's last legs. A 50 post thread by Manny the other day and a new 30 post thread exactly the same today, with another thread on top of that slagging this place off!

"Phil, whos sick of Manny, Jonathan and Dreads and the constant crap they are drivelling out"

Looks like Phil Dixon doesn't like what we have to say ............never mind, Phil PH did not like what he had to say either when he publicly accused him of "bending people over" on NIB Stern games, tut tut Phil Dixon, lighten up, it might never happen and our drivel does not result in us having to publicly apologise for being a careless twat
biggrin-1.png
fluffy thoughts

I thought pinball was for fun and to escape from the mundanity of life but no fun on the Yahoo board..........

The group is where you go to voice your feelings towards the mundanity of life. That, and to watch grown men expose their 'manginas'..oo err...
